just bought my second zed, cheap because of electrical problem
I did this on the V8 and it destroyed the alarm system, pulled that out and replaced a fuses and everything's working now. Worth a check in the 2/3 fuseboxes first before you start ripping anything out

Any TV repair peeps on here?
My brother in his infinite wisdom bought a 32" Sanyo flat screen with built in freeview and PVR. It was a lovely set... until he found a way into the service manual and started fiddling which resulting in the telly going into safety mode while he was playing with the overscan settings. That was 2 years ago, he took it to a sanyo approved dealer who kept it for 6 months before he finally confronted them and got it back having found they'd done bugger all and charged him £80 for the privilege (he's not a great one for standing up for himself over stuff like that, if i'd have been involved i would have contacted watchdog!) Since then he's done nothing with it and it's sat in the corner, all it needs is the firmware resetting which is a quick job for someone in the know. Is there anyone on here who could reset it so he can actually use it again? He's been again to another "recommended" repairer who's messed him around and i can sense he's getting a bit peed off with it now.

Still old school light fittings in my place (it's a 70s bungalow) and swapped every last one throughout the house and most of them are the new style quick warm up ones but are a little yellow. The others glow white but take ages to warm up. I'll have to check which are which

do i dont i, blackberry phone
I've got an N85 which has a broken earpiece but apart from that it's a great little phone, sat nav etc. In the meantime i had a HTC s620 Smart Phone which i've flashed up to version 6.5 of windows mobile and i have to say very impressed. Full keyboard, 8gig storage, weather and everything else. Only problem is no 3g or sat nav. BUT i'm awaiting the Nokia N900 (http://maemo.nokia.com/n900/) probably the most powerful phone to be released yet, runs on linux so plenty of scope for people to write new apps for free on it, GPS, etc 32 gig(!) of ram built in as standard. Universally acclaimed as the best phone on the market at the moment if you've got a spare £360 for a sim free one
