2k Aerosol lacquer
I saw a company selling these recently. They sell a whole range of candies etc too. I'm yet to buy anything yet but was thinking for the sake of a tenner it'd be worth having a go! :) http://www.specialistpaints.com/

Help Needed.... please...
Ahh i saw it there on saturday - you're lucky you have any doors or bootlid i was about to ask andy if i could buy them for the new car  I would love to help but the only time i'm down south is visiting the other half so a bit tricky to escape for the day without weeks of repercussions and earbending :( lol

Thanks Peach!
p.s. very much like that little shorty - I think a bit of work tidying it up and it'll look great :)

Looks like i'll be a two zed owner!
I think it had a little more than just a john dixon chip but that's what i've been told - i'll be interested to see how it pulls when it's working fine. John's work is always very good - he set up my old NA LWB and that's still sitting on the z-club hall of fame as the fastest 2+2 NA (only .1 of a second off its own time with nitrous with the previous owner :))

600zx - Finally back to work....
Whoops sorry buddy, only just got round to look at this thread. Okay update for you guys. I didn't get to touch the car at all last week apart from the detailing on Friday and cleaning the garage. The subframe extension brackets are finished and the subframe is now on the car (a stock z32 one) and bolted up. I've just got to drop it to get the steering column in place and we're done. Got started again last night making up the brackets for the engine mounts. I've got one side done as was busy welding till midnight last night. A couple of pics i grabbed while i was doing it (there is another triangle that welded in after this had been taken) and the sides on the bottom bit have been ground in:

Thanks Peach!
Cheers richard, nearly finished the engine mounts now so back on the road this week thank god! :)

I've got one of your rear boot flattening panel things to fit already with the car and i can't afford to mod this one anyway because of keeping it cheap to insure although i might not be telling them about the uprated gearbox or the john dixon chip pulling 360bhp on the dyno

Shhhhhhh don't tempt fate :smack:  It's a black zed automatic just like my first one :D Can't wait to get that paint work all polished back it should look great :)

It was originally but my bro being the cautious guy that he is decided not to buy a car with a problem on it already (wimp! lol) So i decided i couldn't let it go for that sort of money when i had first dibs and i'm having it myself. Hopefully i'll keep it but with moving house I don't know how my finances will hold up if anything needs doing. I'll be sorting out the passenger side turbo straight away to get it on the road then when i've got chance i'll pull the engine for a weekend and get the second one done and tart it up a bit. Plan is to get that turbo done and put a stock exhaust back on for the time being. That single exit isn't too bad but no point keeping it on if all i'm going to do is commute in it. I'll probably get some nice new shiny tailpipes welded on up in sheffield through exhausts uk to tidy it up. I'll strip the rear spoiler off (that's bulging a bit) and fit the boot skin that comes with it and give it a respray. The interior is nice and original but i have some black leather i bought to trim the door cards in my old car sitting around so i'll get some matching jspec seats off slick pete and retrim everything. The wheels look nice but i'd like to get it back to stock as much as possible so i'll get them sandblasted and painted either silver or a nice gunmetal grey to tidy them up which should sort out the slow puncture in the front. I can't fault the way it drives, it's spot on really apart from the turbo. I'm going to sort out the power steering leak by swapping the pot for an NA one and replumbing underneath with some fresh pipe ( it's had a hicas eliminator bar fitted ) and generally just tidy up what's under the bonnet already. Looking forward to some good old fashioned straight forward zed cleaning and tidying up work instead of all this adapting and welding stuff i've been doing lol

Thanks Peach!
This is what this club's all about. I contacted Lee a few weeks ago about possibly sparing some time to come and help me detail the V8. 6.30am Friday morning i heard the rumble of a zed coming down the main road and he set to work (well after an hour of gabbing from both of us lol) The results speak for themselves. Mate you're a star and i'll definately get you a pint in when i see you next and let you take him for a spin :D Cheers again for all the hard work, Nick

Looks like i'll be a two zed owner!
I must be mad getting another one but popped down to see scatrat on Saturday to have a look at the TT he has for sale and i'll be popping down to pay the last bit and bring it back in a couple of weeks time. JJ is a top guy and it was a pleasure to meet him - hardest working guy ever it has to be said! :) Cheers for the tea buddy and look forward to seeing you again when i come down to pick up the old girl in a couple of weeks. Right back to the V8 again tonight and tomorrow and get it out the garage to get the rover in and give that a tidy up to move it on.....

Fuse box under headlight panel?
Cheers buddy, well i figured you don't really change fuses that often so if that's the case with anything - it's moved out the way :) lol Mine sits just under the passenger headlight on the main structural beam so just need to make a shield to stop water coming in from the fog ducts i'm installing and job done. I think i tried a long time ago to get it under the nose panel and it wouldnt' quite reach. I'm sure i read to release the wire along the top of the wing and route it differently to get it through? Possibly jeff said it (we are talking back in 2005/6 though)

crazy road in norway!
I wouldn't like to be going over one of them in a storm!

Fuse box under headlight panel?
I do back at home as far as i remember, i'll have a check when i get back otherwise i'll just take a piccy when i get back as the bumper's off at the mo buddy

Fuse box under headlight panel?
I pulled my fuse box to pieces and reconstructed it the other side of the hole removing all the excess wires and relays/fuses i didn't need in the V8 conversion. I think i resoldered a couple of wires but did exactly as boldy did with releasing the loom under the wing which worked really well. I know it's a bit late but useful to know if anyone's thinking of trying it and didn't have to enlarge the hole. Mounting up under the wing i just reused two holes already there and as the base of the box is curved i used two short pieces of rubber pipe just bigger than the thread and clamped down to raise it up and suspend it. Worked a treat :)

Done a bit more
Looks superb buddy but i'm confused - is the white a base coat for the skoda blue metallic to sit on top or is that the final colour?
