  1. Cheers guys :) I couldn't resist it for the money! It's a nice sound little car for money - just a bit of welding and paint to chuck on it and that prop and it should be good
  2. I went to pick up the shorty and despite being a little worried about driving it with a wobbly drive-shaft back 30 miles it performed admirably :) We swapped the seats over the other day so i could get the standard leather seats to pablito on Saturday - they do look a little out of place with the standard dull grey tweed interior but i'll get the rest of the panels out mine tonight when i get back and take advantage of an empty driveway. I've got a few big plans with this one but ultimately lookswise externally it'll be staying the same just with a few modest enhancements :) I was out on the drive last night at 11pm emptying the rad and putting in a couple of bottles of antifreeze to brace it for the next couple of weeks. Just a quick piccy this morning before i left - couldn't resist and more to come shortly... :hyper: Thanks again to Peach for a good deal and the patience waiting for me to sort out the money this week :)
  3. Happy Birthday hun, hope you have a great day! :) x
  4. Oh jesus not that thing again
  5. Happy Belated birthday buddy :) Hope you have a guddun and catch you soon!
  6. Great work there - well done! :D
  7. It'll be good to see you guys again - its been way to long! :)
  8. That sounds spot on to me - they seemed pretty efficient to me :)
  9. That's good news, my dad's with them too so it's nice to know someone's actually had a good experience when something bad happens.
  10. PITA, it'll take you about 1-2 hours all in all but there's loads of hidden screws plus the glovebox is a bugger
  11. It's Peach's blue shorty, i'd driven it before and thought it was a nice stock little motor and well looked after. Just the prop wobble and welding to sort and it should be fine :) Cheers buddy, don't tempt me!
  12. Cheers buddy will - it's a lovely looking little car as it is so with the wheels and suspension mods off the V8 it should look mint :) Just the 99 spec spoiler to buy and spray and it should be as i want it :D
  13. If you're over 30 try this place - just been quoted £160 fully comp for a 2 seater non turbo shorty and i'm 31 with no no claims on a second car. http://www.sureterm.com/classic-car-insurance/
  14. Well it's been a while since i've been zedding, I had to shelve the V8 project last May after hitting £18k on the budget and having major problem with the rockers/oil flow and i've ummed and arred what to do about it the past 6/7 months and finally decided at xmas to call it a day and break it for parts. I was going to put the TT lump from rigs' car in and turn it into a TT but after spending ages trying to get the engine out in the first place i remembered how much i hated working on TT engine bays so sold that all off. Then i smashed in the front of the silver car which is still off the road until me and dad have the time to repair all the wings and bumper. SO i've finally found a nice little NA SWB Targa for a good price and did a deal with the owner this weekend so all being well i should be picking it up in the next couple of weeks then it's just a case of swapping over the interior, wheels and suspension on mine and i'll be back zedding :hyper: I'll post some pics when i've picked it up :) See you all at a meet soon :hyper:
  15. Lightweight pulley and flywheel on my NA gave a huge response difference at the bottom end - never got to try it on my TT but i would imagine it would help improve the bottom end grunt before the turbo kicked in.
  16. Bmw 8 series from what i can see :) My dad had the same thing happen with the caravan and lifted the car off the ground before throwing it sideways and ripping two tyres off the rims. Luckily no one hurt, tyres went back on the rim and the car was spotless. Caravan wasn't so lucky :(
  17. That's terrible news but as always these cars bite in the wet and you always have to bear that in mind. Take it easy folks :(
  18. Well if you need anything i've just pulled 3 complete looms out of the breaker this weekend so i've got all the wiring you'll need including interior fuse boxes and i work in Lutterworth so i can drop them off tomorrow if need be. Cheers, Nick
  19. I've been using http://www.ARHoster.com since 2005 and never had an issue, i've emailed them at 2am on a sunday night to restore a data table and they've fixed it within 10 minutes(!) In terms of their customer service they've always been top notch! :) £7.99 + VAT .com (1 year) £11.99 + VAT .co.uk (2 years)
  20. Here here, i sat in a mate's that he had and your legs, hands and arms are all over the place and sit at an angle - all very odd :)
  21. Crap, a bad start to the year but glad you're alright buddy and hopefully that's the worst 2012 can throw at you
  22. Just had this delivered yesterday for £580 from an LG registered refurbisher and it's quite frankly amazing especially the 3d gaming! Dirt 3 scares the crap out of me on bumper cam  http://www.whathifi.com/review/42lw650t Just to clarify it's 42", LED backlit (so it's 3cm thick(!)), passive 3d and 5 pairs of glasses. Worth every penny :)
  23. I LOVE giger's stuff - off to switzerland in march to visit a mate and hoping to visit the giger bar while i'm over in europe :) Have you heard something i haven't?? As far as i'm aware they're trying to discover the origins of humanity and discover an alien planet with the ship they discovered in the first alien film. Prometheus as far as i know is the name of the ship they either discover or the one they fly out in. Event Horizon was where they had a black hole generator and jumped between locations in the universe via hell and brought back an evil entity - totally different as far as i know. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prometheus_%28film%29
  24. For those who don't know about this film its ridley scott directing a sci-fi film based in the same universe as the alien/aliens/alien 3 story with H. R. Giger working on the design of the sets and monsters. Roll on the 8th of June 2012 :hyper: http://trailers.apple.com/trailers/fox/prometheus/
  25. Good result there buddy, well done :)
