Its not correct that they cannot get the info about points once they have come off of your license. If you have an accident there is possibilty there is a paper trail which lists points, either from other quotes, previous insurance or police records. If you kill a coach load of grannies the insurane company will do everything in its power to do you over.

it was probably made of organic porridge ;) pulling the engine was great experience, the turbo was indeed messed up, it looks even worse in real life, best part of the day is defiently being constantly fed by stus mum :)

its harder to find a UK car in good nick than an import, thats what pushes prices up slightly. Personally I wouldn't sell mine for under 6k specs are below.

my dad got his for his 18th birthday 30 years agos from harry's and it's still working fine :D feels a lot more of a quality tool though than some of the stuff they make today though.

redline MT90 has defiently made my gearbox changes smoother, its not a miracle cure though but i thought it was worth the try, i still get a clunk when cold. the short shifter will exagerate the problem however though as i think you are finding

how much was the car?

mr2's are well packaged neat cars, the turbos are fast and with a few suspension upgrades they are good handling cars, I'd steer clear of the NA rev 1's as the suspension and handling is shockin, the rev2's are slightly improved due to engine placed 1inch forward and better suspension setup i think (maybe they moved engine in rev3), the turbos have better handling but i'd still pick a rev 2 over a rev 1 if what you are looking for better handling. I've been tempted to pick up an mr2 turbo rev2/3 as a toy/track car for a while, I prefer my zed on the open road however, its a much smoother journey and defiently where my heart is. I don't have any interest in 1/4 mile driving either, As to reliability, i've covered 25k miles and only replaced MB cylinder and starter motor and clutch. The car is a UK model and up to 117k miles, a freind of mine has had his mr2 for 6 months and spent nearly £2grand repairing it, it depends on the car that you buy. mr2 vs 300zx however..... they both come from japan and have T-bars and are evenly matched powerwise until around 60mph and the zed will then pull slightly stronger than the mr2. 0-60 difference of .2 seconds?!?! do you really think you are going to notice that in real world situation? nope, its just bragging rights. End of the day you may beat a ferrari to 60mph or over a 1/4mile, but he still drives a ferrari and lives in a big house ;)
