If you kill someone you are screwed, even if it isn't your fault, I think they will make the payout to the 3rd party but will then reclaim from you that cost via the courts, it depends on the severity of the accident, insurance companies use mainly 3rd party engineers to assess the damage, if its a light knock they usually just confirm the damage, if it looks like it will cost them a lot they will probably ask for a much more indepth review of your car. It also invalidates your policy, ignorance is not a valid excuse usually.

sorry to hear this, have you phoned the local taxi firms? call up and offer a £100 reward for details leading to its recovery, taxi firms travel to a lot more places than the police do these days. i hope you get her back.

what time did they file the report as to your speeding away? do you have witnesses to say you were in a pub/club at that time?

Defiently fixed properly, A freind of mine had an mr2, a previous owner fixed a stalling problem by playing with the idle, it resulted in him having a bill for nearly £1000 when the real problem surfaced
