Hi Guys I think its best to do this publicly and I'm informing you all of you before I tell the committee. Today with pretty much immediate effect I've decided to step down from the committee. This isn't the usual post where I blame work commitments and lack of time, whereas they are of concern I have in the past been able to work into the late hours on the club because I have had a belief that it would be worth it. Throughout all the controversy over the years and the shady things I have been blamed of I can honestly say that anything I have done in the past has been because I truly think it has benefited the club, I have not gained financially out of the club in any manner except for maybe a few discounts which I have never asked for. My company still holds the 300zx collocated server and we will honor that contract, please remember my company was only paid at the insistence of other committee members, I was extremely happy to continue hosting the server for free and thats why the club hasn't seen any charges for overages in transit usage. I've had some really good times, and met some really good members, I've been here since I was 19 and always have been the youngest committee members, I'm catching up fast to 26 now so this has been a large chunk of my adult life and one I will actually miss from time to time. If any of you guys want to step up to the place and take on my role please do, I'll handover the current setup. You will however need some experience in the following: PHP Linux Apache Sendmail Perl Vbulletin MySQL not an extremely high level, but having worked with those to a moderate level will be beneficial. It's not a role to jump into, it takes a lot to keep this place going and your main commitments will be to the system and not to the process of the club. Anyway, I'll be sticking around and probably pop around to a few local meets, so good luck and thanks for all the fish.

sorted this morning, apparently as i have a hard standing surface with no dropped curb they can put bollards there without telling me, i have started the route to get planning permission tog et the dropped curb as I had planned to do this anyway.

because it has bollards written next to the correct symbols for bollard entry ;)

just woke up this morning and saw the council have written "bollards" outside my flat in front of the area where I park my car, (not a dropped kerb) we have only been living here 5 months and haven't had any formal notice, any idea why this would have happened and can we stop it? i'm going to speak to the council tomorrow

it clashes with my dads birthday, but i should be there at least one day

i work 80 hour weeks trying to build something up with the aim of it paying off in 3 years (after 10 years of hard work) I take enough home to live and don't really have any luxuries other than food in the past 7 years I have probably had the experience some would get in a 50 year career. CCIE is a really good way to go Royal, just try and get into a company that will support you through it, its always better to learn on the job and will be valued more. we aim to train everyone to at least CCNA standard and CCNP for the special ones. not sure about the old MCSE though, but our 3rd line techs will soon be going onto RHCE training.

earn at least 50k from the commitee role each year..

rides are going and are going to be replaced with a new system :) I've just been incredibly busy over the last few months with moving house, decorating and work. i'm taking time off to do all this ;)

and also what would you like to see in a forum overhaul?

this is something the committee have debated for a while, we have some funds available, how much do you think we should pay someone to give the site a overhaul? to redo the forum theme and graphics bare in mind all the graphics so far have been done by myself (colour blind and design inhibited)

and upgrades will be done when i get the time they were planned for the 8th, but i didnt get access to the software until mid april, by that time i was too busy to do anything, and probably am for the next few weeks.

maybe you will listen this time???? christ how many times do i need to explain this to you? heres until the next time :duffer: my company charge a cheap rate for hosting, below industry standard and only because busy bodies insisted that a contract was put in place i don't charge for a fifth of the transit this place uses atm. maybe i should just whack this in an announcement so it doesnt keep getting brought up.

cloean DB would have just recalulated posts from the new forum, it doenst go into the older locked forums, there is probably a way of letting them be counted....

mine were broken so i replaced them with ones from courtesy nissan started to smoke a bit again and it turned out he courtesy ones were letting by so I got some from nissan UK and it solved the problem
