  1. What's the hole in he forward section of the rear wings for? For a solex lock or something?
  2. Nope. I'll work from home. There's a local office at Emerson's Green (Bristol) where I'll base myself out of for the first 6 months. I'll be responsible for the accounts in the SW region.
  3. Good god! You said it was only over filled by a litre!! 6 litres??? Jesus H Christ!!! Hope you've not blown any seals out.
  4. Yeah, company car tax isn't too bad up to a point. I think I was paying under £100 a month last time, might have been closer to £50. I think with the 407, it'll be about £80. But I'll save £50 a month not insuring my Laguna. Once you start getting into the realms of fully expensed company cars, that's when Mr Tax man really bites your ass!
  5. It'll be not much more tax than my last company car. I had a top spec Astra Estate. It's not fully expensed either, so on basic rate of company car tax.
  6. Sure hope so. Still a few years away though. :)
  7. Currently I am a ships agent, but manage to get back into an engineering based role. My new job is as a regional sales manager specialising in filtration systems for heavy industry. Really interesting job as they are expanding at the moment with many new products. Just secured a large MOD contract as well.
  8. Had an excellent second interview today up in Coventry, did a really good presentation too. I was told an hour later that I'd gotten it. Job is very interesting and I'm joining the company at an exciting time. Money is a considerable jump up from what I'm on now. Got a 6th month old 407 SW coming my way. Not the biggest fan of them, but get to choose something else when the lease expires on that one. Anyone ever driven one of these? Apart from their basking shark appearance, what are they like? Anyway, best bit is, my Laguna is now surplas to requirements. So, once I've sold that, it's leather time for my Z! :D Anyway, this came at the right time as I'm off on holiday on Friday to California and had a very stressful time in my current role and going away knowing I've only got to come back to it for a few weeks is just an amazing feeling.
  9. Because they probably get supplied with spigot rings.
  10. Yeah, had a 1.8 SRi Vectra for a while. Whilst I am not the biggest fan of the cars, the SRi does look nice and the 1.8 is lovely and smooth. It's a really comfy car and great on long distances. The one I had had CC as well as satnav. Not very quick, but you wouldn't exect it to be. But a great cruiser.
  11. Can't get much better than these two from that era-ish! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Ip1Luw_WQc
  12. A friend of mine had one that he was trying to cram a 3.0 V6 engine in instead of the inline 6 engines from the Carlton/Senator. He space framed the engine bay and anything. He used to use the Manta forums user name was 'Animal'.
  13. ...the best kit that you used to be able to get for the MK1 Cavalier coupes was the Mantzel Evolution wide arch kit.
  14. I think you'll find it was a GSE. Mantas were never badged GSi. I tell you what I was really fond of, and still am, the Monza GSE. Lovely car and even back then, A/C was optional extra!!
  15. Pork and egg slices. Yeah, I used to force myself to eat it as the potatos were so minging at school. I usually managed to eat a whole slice if they were serving baked beans, but if they weren't, I'd just eat a corner of it and go hungry for the rest of the day! LOL
  16. :hurl: I can't stand Spam. It's a miserable excuse for meat. LOL You're like the only person I know who eats the stuff, yet spam producers are still in business and there's always a rack of Spam in the supermarkets. I do look at it and wonder why, but I guess there's still a market for world war one ration pack food! hehe ;) My Secondary school used to serve that spam with the dried boiled egg thing in the middle. Least I think that was spam.
  17. I should hope not! Corned beef is down in the lower realms along with Spam and dripping. LOL ;)
  18. Maybe more people do know what a cheese patty is. I don't order take-outs all that much. Tend to cook my own stuff. You guys get all sorts of stuff up North I guess that hasn't made it down here. You have all sorts of strange pies don't you that the chippy usually sells? We get pasties and that's about it! LOL
  19. Why is that out of interest? How did you change the compression ratio or didn't you?
  20. The bit on the side doesn't ride round in the Z much. She has her own mode of transport. lol
  21. Obsolete Royal Lettuce?
  22. Group buy!
  23. Excellent stuff mate!! Very impressed!
  24. Never understood why people drill holes in bodywork and fit ugly screws etc. I've always stuck mine on. Looks so much neater. :)
