No, owning a GTO is!

Their noise is subjective. Personally think they sound stupid, like the air brakes on a Scania truck. As to their purpose. They don't really have one other than make the noise like the airbrakes on a Scania truck. When using dump valves, the air is released into the atmosphere and this means that the space between the turbo compressor and the throttle bodies has to be regained and this causes a noticeable delay in boost pressure. Also, the ECU is programmed to expect the unused air to be recirculated back into the intake and if it doesn't arrive, then there is a momentary 'rich' running and this can cause hesitation. There is definately no performance gain from fitting dump valves. Infact the opposite. They only really offer a viable alternative if you're running aftermarket engine management.

They sound stupid. Willy waving mod. "look at me, I got a turrrrbo". You'd rather have something on your car that sounded like the airbrakes on a Scania Truck than benefit from better performance? Jesus wept!
  4. Yeah, I wouldn't advise going that route. You'll have to navigate round London and believe me, you do not want to do this! Far better ways to cross the channel than to waste time in the wrong end of a stupidly congested part of the country. I remember, didn't you have a fault with the HDD in that camera? It couldn't take the shock or vibration or something? When you visit England, let me know and I'll drive over to where ever you are. Be good to catch up again! I visit Germany 2 or 3 times a year as my sister lives in Munich....bit of a way aways from you though.

Dude, just rip the ruddy things off and stop trying to get a pointless product to work! You do know that fitting DVs doesn't help performance in any way shape or form and in some cases is detrimental.

Damn dude! Think Jimmer and I might be down in Portsmouth this Saturday now. How about we arrange a Easter thing as it's only a few weeks after? Lots of people should have time off. Could have a morning in Cheddar followed by a trip up over the Mendips or something?
  7. A bit of help for you. Judging by where you're living in Germany now Lawrence, to where your family in Norfolk are, your best route across the channel is from the Hoek van Holland (Hook of Holland) to Harwich with Stena Line. Harwich is right on the Essex/Sufolk county line and I think is only abouy 70 miles from Norwich. Quite a nice crossing too. http://www.stenaline.co.uk
  8. LJ! You finally made it! How's life in Germany treating you then? I had a great time at Tulsa BTW! Can't believe it's been nearly 2 years since! I took these of you out on the track at Hallett....
  9. Nope, but put on the bumper you did have and fit the type 3 and it would! ;) Think it would look a lot neater and more slick. :)
  10. Do it! Type 3 would look lush on your vert!
  11. Yeah, go for it. :)
  12. Yup. That's my friend's car (3ZC admin). I snapped these when I was at MWZF in Oklahoma a few years ago. It's a lovey drive as well. Even if it is an NA Auto. Just relaxing. :) Often, cars look better on photo than they do in real life...ie, the camera doesn't always pick out all the blemishes, but this car looks 10x better in the flesh. It's seriously pristine! Steve really looks after this car and all his other Zs! He has a Z32 2+2, this, a Z33 Anniversary which I drove last year in Georgia. All in amazing condition.
  13. Chevy Cavalier coupe.... like this...
  14. Thanks Kev! Will let you know. You can have the blinds! I only need the covers! :) I'll bung em in the post for you.
  15. Car

I have no idea what mine's worth or what I'd sell it for. Certainly wouldn't be anywhere near that high! Maybe around the 5k mark. I dunno though. Has had a lot of expensive stuff fitted to it and the car itself was a grade 4 import. So a quality vehicle when it was brought over.
  16. huh? It's right round the other side of London! 2hrs drive probably! LOL. Thanks for the offer though. :)
  17. Be very liberal with stuff! They soak up quite a bit!
  18. West London, not Cambridge.
  19. Nope, it just absorbs. I cleaned my seat belts ages ago, left them to dry, then sprayed back to black all over them, wiped them down with tissues and haven't had any problems.
  20. Hot soapy water and then get some back to black on them. Helps them fly back into the reels.
  21. Gimmie your email address and we'll sort something out. :)
  22. I'll have them and will collect on Thursday! :)
  23. I bet if you tapped that with a hammer, you'd put a hole in it and the lip would fall off. It looks like it's rotted in the corner between both inner and outer skin.
  24. ....and if you do that, then get some new fog light lenses and tint out the bases and around the edged of the insides so they'll be a similar tint to the indicators. Get yourself a UK number plate holder too or a 3/4 sized plate like mine.
  25. A post I did a while ago...just for reference.... USDM JDM Style one (without running light) JDM Style two (with running light and different defuser patern....note larger running light section to other JDM style) UKDM
