  1. I'd have that too if it wasn't so far away as I have room on my driveway! *****cks! The seller has a rather unnerving collection of Skoda Estelles and caravans! LOL
  2. Just reminds me of this, that's all. Neutral switch is required. The ECU uses the signal to adjust idle. I think it might be the reverse light switch. I am hoping I am not getting confused with the reverse light switch.... better that someone else confirms come to think of it.
  3. Think it's the neutral switch. Why on earth have you painted your gearbox red?

  5. :thumbup1: Forum spirit rocks when members go through a tough time!
  6. It's probably red baron. He's left a litany of unhappy people on here and not returned calls/emails/messages/send out dodgy stuff.
  7. Yeah, I had a matrix fail on me in a Senator I had years ago. The stench is horrible.
  8. You don't need to take out the matrix to do the bypass. Or where you searching for a write up for the whole job of replacing?
  9. You don't need a write up! The above is enough info! :p
  10. No, leave the matrix in situ. If you look at the back of the engine there are 2 hoses that go to the bulkhead, one is the inlet to the heater matrix and one is the return hose. What you need to do is close the loop, so remove both hoses and bridge them (engine side).
  11. Actually, the Navan shifter is still the only semi-decent auto shifter....it's still darn ugly though, but there are some really horrific aftermarket auto shifters about.
  12. Rare as hen's teeth! I've never seen one on the road. Infact I think the only place I've ever seen one with my own eyes is in the BMW museum in Munich.
  13. Can't stand either. The one series is ugly from the front. Looks like it's been punched in the face. I'd take an A3 over any 1 series. Couldn't drive something that ugly. The dash is about as bland as Rivita and I wasn't all that inspired when I drove one. Find the 1 series stupidly over rated. It was pleasant enough, but did absolutely nothing for me. The Z3 is proportionally all wrong. Awful looking thing
  14. Have no idea why. The 1 series and Z3 they should have been ashamed of. Both vile looking cars.
  15. So you've driven the Z1? M1? Z8? ;)

Well we're not having it, the hell, anywhere near you! :p
  17. Do a bypass for the time being if you think you can live without it for a few months.
  18. The 8 was in my list of cars when I was looking at the Z. I've driven both and the Z is a much more involving and fun drive. The 8 is a great cruiser though and very handsome, but the Z32 is a much better car to drive if you want driver enjoyment. The 8 is very boatlike. I still love the 8, one of the few BMWs I'd actually be proud to own.
  19. I love the 8 series. :wack:
  20. Heater matrix for sure.
