  1. Fake dump valves are hilarious. Imitating something pointless is just the biggest waste of time evAr!
  2. Here we go. Interesting read. Clicky
  3. A build up of crud. I'm not aware of any successful refurb work that can be done with them. It's the diaphram that goes. I know Jeff has pulled them apart. I'll try and find the thread. I've just given you the facts ya muppet! LOL ;) No, a remap doesn't stop the ECU not reading any metered air! A remap only changes fueling. You need stand alone management for that.
  4. At what point does the knock come? When accelerating? When cornering? When going over rough terrian? All the time?
  5. I didn't realise the noise of a Scania airbrake release was in anyway novel. ;) Apart for my dislike for the useless things, they are actually detrimental to the performance of a Z running stock management. They are dumping metered air in an operation for them to make their silly noise and will cause rich running, hesitation and a delay in boost pressure...not always noticeable, but because the ECU is working on the premise that any unused air is recirculated via the recirc valves, the above can always be expected when running stock management. People have also been even more silly and fitted them to an auto....please don't tell me it was an auto you were driving? A BOV will only operate when the accelerator pedal is released when running positive boost pressure! This doesn't happen on an auto. There is definitely no performance gain from fitting BOVs. Infact the opposite. A bit of wastegate chatter is what you wanna hear. A far more serious and meaningful noise....and it's naturally produced. :) I eventually want to replace my recirc valves with brand new Bailey DV30s which are aftermarket recirc valves. Do exactly the same job as the stock recirc valves, just new, more responsive and with no chance of ever getting any goose honk.
  6. Seen it before. Very impressive. But I'll stick with the VG thanks. Sounds a lot better than the inline-6. :)
  7. Huh? That's dirt cheap! That's £300 labour for a job that takes about 2 days!
  8. Did this get sorted?
  9. Too many creases and gouges. Looks too 'waisted' along the centre too. Front end is nowhere near as sexy as the current line of AMs. Not bad though, but it's not a patch on the current DBS which is their prettiest car to date. I do really love the rear though.
  10. Dude, this has been covered millions of times. :) There is a search button. ;) FYI though, fronts are 6.5" (round) and the rears are 6x4...in some cases, they are 6.5" round as well.
  11. Certainly not the most attractive AM they've designed, but it sounds good.
  12. It's a +26 on a 10" wheel. That's pretty extreme for the rear of the Z without pulling the arch completely out, even with stretched tyres. Stretch with too much negative camber wears the tyres at an alarming rate, not to mention far less in terms of contact area.
  13. The rears will require FAR more than a lip roll! The actual arch itself will require pulling out rather than a lip roll.
  14. As I said, bodywise, it's 99.9% OEM/original. :)
  15. Series 4 and 5 at least did not have boost gauges. Series 1, 2 and 3 did, I can't recall if the series 6 TTs came with boost gauges. Pretty sure they were brought back for the final model.
  16. Overspray is my biggest pet hate. Luckily, I have none and made a HUGE point in telling the bodyshop that overspray simply would not be tolerated. I actually stripped off most bodypanels and trim when I had my car painted, so there was no need to have paint anywhere near the underside. I've seen a lot of z32s with paint all over the wheel arch liners and all over the radiator, ICs, exhausts. Awful.
  17. Welcome to the forum. With a set of nice wheels, that'll look good. Personally would get a more subtle spoiler and wouldn't even bother wasting your time with dump valves. 99-spec rear lights would be my choice of lights. They are the only ones that compliment the car. I'd be tempted to try something different for the body. Whilst 99-spec fascia is very nice, Stillen do some very nice bumper extensions...and being a black car will be most subtle. Generally; steer clear of vented nose panels, vented wings, vented skirts, vented bonnets, ugly and ungainly aftermarket front bumpers. There is so much unflattering detritus available for them, it's untrue. There are some really nicely modified Z32s out there with quite a few bodymods that do look good. Smithy's car is a nice example of a heavily modified Z32. But there are few around that look nice like his does. But, as Richard has said, you don't actually need to do a single thing to the bodywork. They are stunning car straight out of the box and it's very easy to get things wrong. It's a smooth slippery shape and agressive fibreglass bodywork just does NOT work on the car like it does on Skylines for instance. Here's a black Z32 with little more than a well executed stance and a choice selection of wheels....and it's one of nicest Z32s I've ever seen. I even think that stock rear spoiler looks great. The tyres have too much stretch on them for me, I like a nice flat tyre wall, but he's nailed the stance, so it kinda works.
  18. Only just seen this. Very nice!
  19. Craig, there's little difference between and NA and TT in terms of insurance.
  20. SEARCH! Dave, you've been on here since 2002 and you must have seen this covered at least 4.5 million times!
  21. You're likely to get a tatty to reasonable condition NA auto for that. Always baffles me; people that are willing to spend up to £2,500 on a year's insurance, yet looking to spend £1k on the car itself. Beggar's belief.
