....I am sure Bri will confirm that with me. Don't think I've got any of that wrong.

It's not so bad. It's very different than it is over here. Some states are really easy, those with no vehicle checks. California for example has something called a smog-check. It's basically the same as our emissions test that we have carried out on cars over here for MOT purposes. They're quite strict in some states like California. It's a yearly check and is part of the registration process, whether you're renewing your tag or getting a new one. Other states, like many of the southern states and by southern I mean the bible belt, the regulations are very relaxed. Many other states have no smog-check and most states don't require any type of yearly inspection at all either. You can literally pull a car out of a junk yard, register it, insure it and drive it. So when you 'register' your car at the DMV, you're effectively taxing it to be driven on the public highway. In addition, licence tags can expire if you don't renew them. You have to re-register, you're then issued a new licence plate or set of plates, if you're buying a car, you have to register it whether it be new or used and guess what....you have to get a new set of licence tags from the DMV. You may notice some little stickers on the tags you have which show that they're still in date or haven't expired - that's effectively the tax and is a levy paid through the DMV. If you've ever watched American cop shows, you'll have heard the term 'expired tags'. Expired tags is like running around with no Tax and/or MOT. As you can see, I spend far too much time in the US! lol

Correct he will! Some people however register their cars out of state for tax reasons and sometimes to avoid having a front licence plate if they have a second or family residency out of state. A friend of mine in Missouri registers his car in Mississippi so he doesn't have to have a plate on his Z32.

Vanity plates are fine, again providing you don't require a front licence plate. One of my friends has a 'Z' as a front licence plate. Your friend will be ok with that. :)

No plate required then. You can drive it in other states that have the front licence plate law and not have to fit a front plate. They are definitely required in California, but not in Arizona, the next state on. I did have a list of which states required front plates and those that don't.

Hahaha! If ever I head that way and take my Z with me, I am going to roll round on UK plates. It's a RHD too, so should get pulled over quite a lot! - - - Updated - - - Depends what state they were registered in.

Haha! Don't do it in California, the state troopers will hand your ass to you!

You do in a lot of states actually, the majority of states require a front plate, I think only about 20 states don't require one.

Compact/Slim 4 channel amplifiers
As long as you're sure! Would be great to trial it!

Compact/Slim 4 channel amplifiers
Ok, well if it's going to be twice the power of that which my HU currently produces, then it will certainly help. Thanks for the info - how did you want for it Andrew?
-
Compact/Slim 4 channel amplifiers
So with my '18w RMS', would that be 2w per channel more with this amplifier? Like I've previously said, I know very little about power ratings etc, so sorry if I come across a little ignorant.

10mm Hub centric wheel spacers
http://www.vividracing.co.uk/h_r_trak_drs_series_10mm_wheels_spacer_pair_nissan_350z_roadster_04_09_1013844190.php Application generally is all 350z if you're buying in the UK. These come with the high tensile extended wheel studs which you will need.

Compact/Slim 4 channel amplifiers
Thanks Andrew, that looks good. Spec sheet suggests it's 34 watts per channel RMS? - - - Updated - - - That would involve running more loads more cable. I have considered it, but want to keep it as neat and compact as I can.

Compact/Slim 4 channel amplifiers
I have fused power lead that I used for my previous sub/amp set up still in the car and a nice big beefy battery Mike. Alternator is stock TT....I won't be using it on full volume or all that much.

Compact/Slim 4 channel amplifiers
Oh right, I see. Thanks for the heads up! I need to do some investigative work as to where to fit the amp and will report back. Would it totally transform the sound with that little amp you posted up?
-
Compact/Slim 4 channel amplifiers
I guess you wouldn't recommend it. Looks like a neat design in terms of package-size and ease of fitment.

Compact/Slim 4 channel amplifiers
Ever seen one of these?

Compact/Slim 4 channel amplifiers
Will that help with mid-range too? I don't know too much about how it will affect everything. I have 2 way Alpine 16.5cm in the doors. Not sure on their spec without taking them out again.

Compact/Slim 4 channel amplifiers
Got any pics of it? Wouldn't kill the speakers I have? I never know how much they can take? 200 over 4 is still effectively 4 x 50? Excuse my ignorance, I know 50 is peak power.

Not a big job but quite satisfying
I know, just wanted confirmation - didn't want you shouting 'GODAMMIT THAT HURT' everytime you tried to put something in there! haha Good mod though, you should try and screw them in from the other side if you can. Kinda wished my Z had a little more cubby space. The glove box isn't really accessible whilst you're driving and the centre arm rest is full of CDs and porno DVDs! - - - Updated - - - .....I jest with the porno DVDs.

lol ;) Which way did you screw the screws in? HU looks pretty decent.

Which way did you screw the screws from? Outside in or inside out? You should have taken the clock out and cleaned it while you had the centre panel out - you could grow a crop of potatoes in the dirt! ;)
