  1. Well, it's February, so the homeward slog toward spring and summer is upon us. Just March to do and then I'll tax my Z again for the beginning of April, so not long! The weather this year especially has made me glad my Z is in storage for the winter. Just awful. But it's also making me miss it as I do push it out of the garage from time to time to either work on it or give it a wipe down and I haven't even been able to do that as it's always been wet/raining! Even if it's cold, at least I can push it outside to tinker with. Anyone else counting the days? I do hope this miserable weather pattern breaks!
  2. If you do buy that UK TT original car....please please don't put a bodykit on it! :D ....but I think you're looking at something else! :)
  3. I think the reason why it's back in is described in the sales blurb. Looks a great car! Half tempted to it myself as it's rare to find a clean original such as that. Something like that is worth buying and putting in to storage/museum piece.
  4. Nice story behind this! It looks to be in fabulous unmolested condition. No nasty bodykits or anything. Sure, it's an auto, but if I was on the hunt for another, I'd be sure to take a look at this at that price! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/A-Formidable-Z32-Nissan-300ZX-Twin-Turbo-with-Full-History-and-an-Amazing-Tale-/281256996622?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item417c392f0e
  5. Those are not badged a 'GTR' They're badged Skyline 350GT to avoid confusion. I've driven the Infiniti badged version, the G35 out in the USA. Very much a 'touring' style upmarket interior. I really like them and actually prefer them to the 350Z. They share the same underpinnings and drive-train. A very pleasant car, doesn't set the world a light, but it's a really nice car to drive and with a few subtle modifications can be made to look quite pleasing. Quite a few don't like it in the UK, but having seen a few in the US and driven one, I'm a fan. Most of the 350GT Skylines / G35s I've seen have had auto transmission, which tend to be the common denominator. As I've said, they share a lot with the 350z, so servicing parts are very easy to get hold of. As far as the aftermarket goes, Z1 cater for the G35 and they offer some nice bits of kit. I rate them and would own one if I was looking for more of a daily tourer. A choice set of wheels and a decent stance and they look quite special in the flesh.
  6. The 2+2 I use in the US has a Labree system on it. Make sure you use the resonators (centre box) as it's too droany without. A nice sounding exhaust actually.
  7. Smooth nose panel too dude! Ditch the snout! :)
  8. Reckoning you've been taking 'how to use the interwebs' lessons from Bird! :wack:  ;)
  9. ......but when I took my Z to southern France I took a small tool kit with some common size spanners, a small ratchet and some common size sockets + a screw driver. I never have problems with my Z and have complete confidence, so rarely have tools in it when driving in the UK or even short trips to northern France.
  10. Pffft! I think you knew anyway! Indeed. He's been on TV a few times and has worked on a number of high profiles cases. Before he was a judge he was a barrister at The Old Bailey and appeared in Forbes back in 2003. Absolutely lovely guy and was nice to see his name in there after reading that terrible story.
  11. Can anyone guess which one he is? Pretty horrific story! http://m.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-beds-bucks-herts-26024201
  12. It's the way they flair out at the bottom that makes them look so strange. They don't follow the lines of the car at all, you lose the flow of the car's shape, the swage line. Plus all the mesh. Really glad you've gone back to stock as the rest of the car looks clean AND it's a late-spec car. :pint: :)
  13. Whilst I like the 99 front end, I actually prefer the original front end, with or without a lip. My favourite is the rarely seen older version of the Impul front bumper. I used to have a photo of it, but it's long since gone. I like the other version which you normally see, but prefer the ubber rare early one.
  14. I mirror your thoughts entirely on road cars, track weapons are a different kettle of fish. They are very very few complimentary bumpers out there and most aftermarket stuff that you commonly see really does the cars no favours what-so-ever. The WW and the Veilside bumpers being the least flattering. I for one applaud your decision. :) Nissan did a near-perfect job of designing this car visually and as the cars become rarer, having clean cars with original looking bodies as becoming increasingly desireable. This isn't to say that there isn't nice aftermarket stuff however, as TwinZ, Impul, Stillen, Aeromaster, Kaminari all make some nice stuff, but most of the 'styling' products supported by venders in the UK are pretty dire imo. Generally, some of the most visually appealing Z32s have had nothing more done to the exterior than a choice set of wheels and a well thought out stance. The days of the big gawky fibreglass bodykits are on the decline thankfully. Some cars can wear these sorts of things well as they have more angular lines, but the Z32 with its ubber smooth slippery shape and elegant lines just doesn't lend itself to vented wings, huge gaping bumpers, enourmous spoilers, round rear lights and lurid paint schemes and never has.
  15. ...diff bush kit. http://www.zcentre.co.uk/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.pbv.tpl&product_id=470&category_id=63&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=7
  16. Replace the arms with adjustables. More hassle than its worth taking that lot out to replace the bushes. I don't even know whether energy suspension do that application anymore as people wanting that tend to buy SPL, Powertrix etc adjustable upper and lower arms which remove the need for new bushes. If you're lowering your car anyway, you at the very least need the upper arms. Or are you talking about the bushes on the rear hub assembly?
  17. Added Kev, you might want to see about coming to our big meet in the summer at Beaulieu.
  18. In the case of the Z32, lower compression is achieved by having pistons who's head has a more shallow crown. The combustion area on the head is the same, pistons have less clearance on an NA when at TDC thus giving it a higher compression ratio.
