  1. You sad man. LOL
  2. Depends on when it was registered in Japan. It might have been a 90 model, or one of the last ones. There are spurious cars that straddled both model years. The vert is the worst for that and seems to have all sorts of trim variants that never tie up to what you think it is.
  3. Indeed, they are truly appalling. I've never seen a nice system, they all look tatty after a year on the car. Before I knew my shit, I had one fitted to a car in my early 20s. It was a V6 converted Astra and there wasn't anything on the market that was off the shelf, so all I had at my disposal was to have something custom made up. Just shockingly bad materials, cheap baffles. The whole thing was complete dog turd, but it served a purpose.
  4. I've heard almost all 'off the shelf systems'. There are only 3 out there that I highly rate. Sure, one of them is the one I have on my car, the Veilside Evolution. Refined, but deep and exotic looking. It's well know that it makes one of the nicest sounds and is highly sort after. Also, the ABFlug system is as good. It sounds fantastic and has a similar note to the Veilside system. Then there's the B&B system from the states. A bit louder and slightly less refined, but it has a very good note and is probably the best looking system out there. Over rated are: HKS Hypers and single exhaust systems. Avoid: ALL Powerflow products. The Japspeed system isn't too bad for a readily available inexpensive system and it doesn't sounds reasonably refined.
  5. Yes, but you've only just mentioned that, haven't you!
  6. ConZult and MJP. Heat and lots of it will help get your sensors off. Mine came off easily. :)
  7. There are 3, but the cast and alloy TT calipers use the same disks and pads.
  8. When demand outstrips supply is when prices turn around. Demand has never been that high for them as of late, but as Gary has said, supply is really low now as so many have been broken. Finding a TT manual for example is getting harder, especially if you like clean ones with no rust and loads of fibreglass nailed to them.
  9. Yeah, mine are 19". Some 19s look too big, it depends on the style. Dished with lip works best IMO. This might help you....it's horrible to look at, but a decent reference.
  10. You need to try and get the part stamp off of them. 91 onwards, all calipers were the same. If you have later calipers on your NA, they'll be identical to that fitted to the TT. Might be worth an upgrade anyway if you haven't. If yours is not a 90, then it'll likely have the TT calipers.
  11. This is actually quite significant, because it means that the car is going from 'cheap thrills to show your mates at McDonalds' to 'classic'. It's how all the 'retro' cars go. Stuff like MK1 and 2 Astras, Novas, Escorts. They all went through this phase. Anyone remember Carlton Automotive? It used to be that every other MK4 Escort you'd ever see looked like this... As they've gotten to an age, this stuff has almost disappeared, also with the demise of chavvy media detritus such as Fast Car, Revs and Max Power. Concourse and/or track vehicles seem to be what's left and the values have gone up. Z32 will head this way slowly but surely.
  12. 99-spec replica "More than 10 available / 1 sold" lol You're right though, despite their appearance, a new un-fitted/un-painted bumper is worth more than £50 if you can find a buyer no matter what it looks like.
  13. Lee knows I've given him a ribbing about the stuff he's accumulated on facebook. He'll be expecting that comment!
  14. Still come along Steve if you can! John, be good to see you in whatever if you're about. Looks like it'll be The Gorge!
  15. Check you haven't damaged a pin or that the connector is seated correctly. I'd also advise a full clean up of all connectors from the MAF, PTU and Coil packs.
  16. Mapping/power output, that huge bodykit you have will create extra drag, tyre design and size, condition of engine, gearbox, quality of fuel.....the list goes on. All are contributory factors.
  17. Some of the later ones were 'ok'. But I won't rave about them anymore than an acute spell of irritable bowel syndrome and an anal fissure. It's been a long time since a decent car movie was made. A really long time. Good road movies are few and far between too nowadays; sure F&F is an action film, but it just does nothing for my interest.
  18. Just throwing out a tentative plan for a quick Easter weekend meet at Cheddar Gorge, or possibly Chew Valley Lake. I am up for either, if anyone else wants to come along, that would be great. The good weather is expected to remain, so it would be nice to make the most of it.
  19. I never got the appeal of ANY of the F&F films. Street racing, stupid bodykits and hanging about in car parks never really floated my canoe. Vin Diesel is about the most mediocre over-rated actor there is, the story line is, well, as mediocre as he his. I have watched most of them and given them all critique, but none of them has done anything for me and I just don't understand their success.
  20. This bit looks really odd. Reminds me a little of Benjamin Buford Blue; "you'd better tuck that in, else you'll get it caught on a trip-wire".
  21. Past tense 'considered'. As much as I like them, mine is staying as-is. Got the body pretty much as I like it. Next on the list are single piece prop, Nismo transmission mount, new engine harness, Z1 Smics and a Noel to do a remap.
