Importing something yourself.
That's because it's in a million pieces!

Some already are worth £5k+...! I can think of quite a number already that I'd value at more than that.

Just save up or a while - you don't need to be in so much haste. Good ones do appear from time-to-time. There's a TT Auto on ebay for around £3.5k. If you could scrape that together and then over time, get a manual conversion done to it, you'll be quids in.

I agree, however whilst that is the case, I can't see importers going crazy on them like they did, say, 10 years ago. The market has shrunk and I can't see hoards being imported like they were in the boom-time years, thankfully, thus keeping the market buoyant. They reached the bottom of their depreciation curve about 2 or 3 years ago. I also believe that it's now getting increasingly hard to find good ones in Japan. They have seemingly turned into the retro-classic that they were destined for.

Fair enough, I personally wouldn't buy anything of that value without seeing it.... The Z32 is actually quite a bit more complex that its year-sake equivalent, the R32.

£2,300 landed?? lol Shipping will cost around £1000, agents fees, de-registration, registration, tax etc will be about £300-£400.....so the car will cost you £900? I wouldn't buy a car in this country for that! You need to stop, think and save a little more. Don't just settle for something 'oh, I don't mind if it needs work'. Unless you're competent with these cars, you'll likely be buying into a whole bucket of problems. Save some money!!

A big thanks to Roobarb!
As many of you know, a few of our cars where chosen to be exhibited at the Classic Car Show last year at the NEC; this has to be one of the highlights of owning my own 300zx. Well, whilst I was off having a chat with Quentin Wilson, Mandy spotted another celebrity eyeing up my car! Unfortunately he had gone by the time I'd returned, but mentioned who he was. My parents came up later on that day and I mentioned him to my father and he then told me that he knows him vaguely and got in touch with him. It just so happens that he (Jon Bentley - TV presenter and former executive director of Top Gear) had a 300ZX as a press-launch vehicle back in 1990 and has a big admiration for the car. Well Jon is now keen to meet up, have a drive in mine and to talk about the car. Hopefully this may raise the profile a little more! So, thanks Mandy for pointing him out and letting me know! You're a star! :)

Nice exhaust with a nice price.
You have the turbo that totally changes the exhaust note. You'll find that TTs have a much deeper note, more refined and more exotic sounding, NAs are higher pitched and raspy. NAs are much more sensitive to exhaust makes/models. It's easy to ruin an NA with an exhaust, a TT is more forgiving.

Nice exhaust with a nice price.
Quality of material, design of pipe bends, quality of silencing material and how much. The Veilside system is no lightweight, but the materials are of excellent quality, as are the baffles. It uses an H-pipe rather than the X-pipe. For example, the metalwork is of a thicker grade than most systems, this does add a bit of weight, but I'd trade off a little bit of that for a refined burble with absolutely no droan what so ever. My car is a street car, so for me, it ticks every single box. The overall quality, if you've ever seen one is incredible and far superior to most others I've seen, especially considering the age.

He had to buy an entire car first to get the exhaust....

Nice exhaust with a nice price.
Why??

Nice exhaust with a nice price.
Possibly the best sounding....I am biased, but I have heard plenty - sounds nicer than the B&B and is surprisingly refined; the best of both worlds!

What did you do to your zed today?
I had planned on doing things today - first time in ages! But I achieved the square root of f-all! I have bought a new battery though as my current one won't hold charge for more than a few days! That's still sat on the shelf! I did part re-attached my refurbished seatbelt. The aim was to take it out for a drive this morning, but they had actually and pointlessly salted the roads, so I quit with any effort. Over the next few weeks, I'll be taking a spare set of all the OEM parts of my suspension apart completely for powdercoating and new new bushings as I'm doing away with the solid bushings I put on it about 6 or 7 years ago. I miss the supple ride, so brand new bushes, ball joints and HICAS etc arms throughout.
