  1. I've got Valvoline in my Z. I usually use Comma oil which is very good.
  2. Even if the alignment is out and/or the suspension is damaged slightly the CV joints should be able to take up a large proportion of that error.
  3. Have the CV joints been replaced lately? Not sure if there's a way of testing the car's own differential - those really are the only other things that could cause this if everything else is ok.
  4. Not intending to sound like an ass, but have you considered it could be driver abuse? What part of the shaft is snapping?
  5. Looks better Art, those blue lights look seriously cheesy.
  6. Thanks for the info! Wondering whether I can risk a low-bake oven on the throttle housings without having to remove the spindle and butterfly. I'd imagine it should be ok....low bake can be achieved as low as 130-150 degrees.
  7. Hold on - the GTR does complete with it...and Toyota have nothing else to complete with the GTR...lol Your sentence doesn't make any sense. :p A new GTR is planned.
  8. They had the sporty crossover in the form of the Murano (same engine as the 350z). The current Murano on the American market uses a similar engine also, however it's turned into more of a luxobarge. With the Juke Nismo and Qasqai, it's very hard to see exactly where this will fit in. It'll be something similar in concept to the BMW X6 3-door I'd guess. I am not convinced this will actually go ahead as it will eat into Juke sales, I'd say they'd be reducing their own market to a degree. Having said that, 370z sales in Europe haven't been all that spectacular unlike that of North America where they've continued to be as strong as ever - North America is where the majority of the demand actually is and whilst SUVs and crossovers are popular in the US, this will add yet another SUV type vehicle to the lineup which already the Juke, Rogue (Qashqai), Pathfinder, XTerra Murano AND Armada which is ridiculous. North American Nissan however is a much stronger brand than it is over here (and subsequently has a more enticing model range). NMUK are just an accountancy firm churning out stuff so bland, it's like eating flour. The Micra is now built in India and looks more dated than the car it replaced. The Pulsar was a complete and utter disappointment. It was a name I was really hoping they'd be bringing back and bringing back with it, some well needed flare in their 'car' market. Alas, it was not to be and what was launched quickly went unnoticed. The Note - it's basically a rebadged Modus and again, has all the excitement of Swiss cheese. NMUK also do absolutely nothing for their own enthusiast base either and for me, just seen as a supplier of white goods - they are a success however as a business - just not as a manufacturer of striking machines. I'd imagine, if they had their way, this new 'Z' would be a sports crossover. I'm not convinced the market needs yet another jacked up hatchback - or even a jacked up coupe. The market for a 'personal' sports car is still there I think as the GTR is now approaching the £80k price tag - I just think NMUK just need to do a better job of marketing it as there will be a gap left.
  9. I have a spare set that I am going to recondition as I'm rebuilding all the visual aspects of the top half of my engine, so with that comes freshly powder coated rocker covers, re-plated springs and throttle mech and also powder coated throttle housings to match. I've stripped most of one of the throttles down and will renew the 3 or 4 plastic bushings/bearings and can't unscrew the screws holding the butterfly to the spindle. In addition, once that's removed, should the spindle just slide out? I've removed everything else around it. If that's the case and you're left with 2 bearings, what did people do who've had theirs powder coated do with those? Leave them in situ? Finally, I am looking to shave the bottom of the throttle housings and in so doing, totally delete all of the cooling galleries - has anyone done this?
  10. That's why I suggested getting them powdercoated. It's not expensive to do. :)
  11. They're all shite. I've been with almost all of the service providers and they all have their pitfalls. What I find more infuriating than ANYTHING else.....the signal coverage in the UK is just pathetic. Why in this day and age, in a country as small as ours are they so many black-spots - in places you just wouldn't expect it! It's terrible, I don't have this issue in any other country I've been to in recent times. Europe is streets ahead, I can even get reception in the middle of the Arizona desert! Don't get me started on data quality and also landline availability for fibre optic links. They're still banging in copper into most new build homes in the UK! Ridiculous!
  12. There's a guy on here who's importing quality Z32s. User name is gazwoz - he should be able to find you something and bring it over for you. If you have time and a semi decent budget, then buying from Japan is a really good thing as has been said. Generally the cars are very much better looked after than what you normally see over here. Good ones over here do crop up from time to time, but good ones are getting very thin on the ground, most that are good are owned and have been for many years. Mine was a fresh import when I bought it back in '05 as what I saw even back then wasn't all that great.
  13. That's because they lost an aircraft to a similar crash back in 2011. No one on the ground lost their lives as the pilot was able to guide the falling plane away from houses - but the scenario was very much the same.
  14. Yeah he is - just happy to have some down time that he can spend with is family more than anything.
  15. Buttocks crossed for you Richie! I hope all goes smoothly!
  16. Yes! Yes! Yes! :) It would really finish that gorgeous car off. A nice glossy anthracite, shadow chrome or silver would make it look so sharp. The current wheel finish makes them look dirty and faded which doesn't compliment all that effort you've put in to making the rest look so damn good!! :) I absolutely love what you've done to that car though, but that really would be the finishing touch. :)
  17. G.E.T. T.H.O.S.E. W.H.E.E.L.S P.O.W.D.E.R C.O.A.T.E.D N.O.W!!!! :) Car looks fab though Lee!
  18. Sorry, I don't agree with that. Whilst it is an almost improbable incident, the AAIB and air show officials have to be seen to be doing something for the good of the public in (terms of safey) and the media (in terms of actually doing something about it). Resting on your laurels suggesting it won't happen again is a poor position to be in. The aviation industry is very tightly regulated and rightly so despite its safety record. They're not banning air shows or planes. They've temporarily grounded the Hunter fleet (as with any commercial aircraft that's suffered catastrophic failure - they often given temporary grounding), they've put a ban on high power acrobatics on vintage aircraft only. That could be lifted pending the outcome. You can't simply carry on as if nothing's happened. Just my 2 penneth. :)
  19. Whilst I don't like to speculate, there are photos of it shortly before it crashed showing what appears to be fluid escaping. Potentially a hydraulic failure - I am sure it won't be long before the AAIB have discovered what happened. Having said that, military aircraft are excempt from carrying black box and voice data recorders and given that this is a historic aircraft, it isn't going to give much away I don't think. Let's hope the pilot makes a full recovery. Very sad news. I do go to air shows myself and absolutely love them.
  20. Yes, he's in France with his family for a VERY well earned break. Poor bloke has been non-stop since going full-time at PowerZed. He'll be back at the weekend. :)
  21. Peasants can rent garages, it's not expensive. :wack: I will be doing this soon as I downsize for 6 months before my new house is built. Actually I'd really like some bonnet struts, just not chromed ones. Not a fan of the aftermarket kit you can buy either as they come with flimsy metal brackets. I think mantav8 adapted some from another car to fit ours. Looked much more 'OEM'.
  22. I just work on my car in the garage, saves agro.
  23. Agreed. The ones on the market place at the moment are all made from similar materials - likelihood is they're printed on a 3D printer, then sanded, then finished. To make a mould for injection moulding purposes, you'd need to find an investment of around £40,000. You wouldn't even recoup the cost, even if the part were to sell really well, thus, we are stuck with what we have. They're not very good quality, however, mine fits really well, I think it all depends on variance. 3D Printing's tolerance is pretty low-brow.
