  1. Was having a look at the arse end of my zed and was just thinking.....wonder if a Laguna rear wiper would make it look a tad more modern....what do you think? Reckon it would look right on it?
  2. If you're building one for the other side, might be worth doing a how2 for it with photos and dialogue. Does look good. :)
  3. I absolutely hate those alloy spoilers. Especially the ones bolted to the McDonalds racers....
  4. I did ask them about it and they said they'd check it all out. When I spoke to him, they ended up trailoring the car back as the cam belt was slack and making a slight noise. Which is the reason why the dealer wants it changed. So that's pretty good and honest really. I hope it what Im after. Something told me it had leather in it, but found out today that it had cloth. But that doesn't matter too much. I'll have it retrimmed one day. It looks nice from the photos and is grade 4, so should be about the best you can get 'I HOPE'!! lol
  5. Yeah, I know what you mean there. It's one reason why I am so ashamed to own mine. Barely driven it in 2 years!! Saying that it has a decent engine and doesn't look like it's crashed through Halfrauds front window! LOL
  6. Have a deposit on it. Just as a holding one as it's a grade 4 and certified that way. Spoke to the guy today and they're doing the cambelt and poss water pump. View it and driving it tomorrow. Gio and Richard Smith have kindly agreed to come along with me to check it out. So should be putting down the whole deposit down and picking it up the weekend after next. Just waiting for the rest of the cash for my convertible now and that's it. :)
  7. That's the blue 3.0 V6 running nitrous isn't it? Can't ever remember it with that much power. Thought it was closer to 400.....
  8. Yeah the C25XE is rather sluggish on take up. Flywheel is some 17kgs. 170bhp was factory figure, but the engines loosen up one hell of a lot when run in. More so than on any other engine I've seen. My was just shy of 190 on the rollers. Not seen one less than 180. You can get some fairly decent power from them. Really restrictive exhaust manifolds though.
  9. Agreed, we all had to start somewhere. Not everyone is born with a Zed stuck to their arse from the point of passing their driving test...lol  ;) I'm long overdue for mine. Only a few weeks to wait though. :D
  10. Must have been an X20XEV not C20XE, they produce that power, XE's pump out at the very least 150bhp I've had loads of Vauxhalls. Only because I know how to rip them apart and rebuild them. :) This is what I've just sold to make way for my Zed. It's a 94 Astra Convertible which I've fitted a 2.5 V6 Calibra engine into. Goes pretty well. Bored of it now. Was due to replace it about 3 years ago, but redundancy put pay to that idea.

As long as it's not a Q plate, then yeah, should be fine. Only thing you can't do, is put a plate on the car that would make it appear newer than it actually was. For instance, yours is a 91 year I guess, you couldn't put, say a 94 plate (L reg) on there.
  12. Good good. :D Depends what SRi varient it was. They came with 4 different engines...this will probably bore everyone to death, but here goes. Firstly, the early ones with a 2.0 8v (20SEH), same engine as fitted to the 8v Astra GTEs. Capable engines, around 130bhp. When they were facelifted in around 93, the GSi was dropped from the range and the C20XE was fitted (2.0 16v). Around 155bhp. Good engine and as Cavalier SRi's are quite light, I think that would have made a very decent chase, the NA Zeds are quite heavy, but yeah, they are still quicker. Off the mark though, I think they would be pretty even stevens. Also, at the time, another 2.0 8v, similar to the early model, but less BHP and a Cat. Circa 115bhp. When the C20XE finished production, the X20XEV was fitted (Ecotec lump), early ones were fabled with sensor problems and water pump failures. They were around 140bhp. Not as quick, but smoother than the early 16vs.
  13. Who's interior is that??? ^^^ nice
  14. Yeah, I've had a Cav GSi as well. Was a nice car really, only thing it could have done with was the F28 6 speed box from the Turbo model. Screamed its tits off on the motorway. The 2.0 16v 20XE was a very good engine for its day. Developed for motorsport, it wasn't very refined, but you can get quite a bit of power out of them when fitted with TBs and good management. They can be driven to the point of distruction and still carry on. SBD kitted XE's find their way into Caterhams and such like. Trouble is with them a lot of the GSi's have either rotted away or been chaved up to the 'max' and look apauling. Nice to drive though and look quite nice. My old one...
  15. Looks great, well made and what a good fit :)
  16. lol One is a company car that I'm not using at the moment, the Cavalier is my bargain banger and the Convertible I've just sold to make way for the Zed which I've got a deposit on. :)
  17. Hello no, it was car I looked at when I was younger. But for me, half the reason I am gettting one is all about the power. My current (non-cavalier) car that I've just sold was only just below 200bhp.....so HAVE to have a TT. :)
  18. I use Cavweb too. My username on there is SimonP. I left my response. I think he was probably sat next to an N/A
  19. Very very good. I've used them and so have friends and they are highly recomended. Not sure on manifolds, but a custom cat back will be of very good quailty. They use good materials unlike powerflow who use a rather shite stainless, proper mandrel bends and good quality welds. They are not cheap, but you get what you pay for. :)
  20. I like the smooth look, but the 99 spec spoiler suits the car so well. I shall be getting one for mine which has already had the tailgate removed of its spoiler and smoothed. Saw Legrath's Zed last night the spoiler looks great on it. Deffinately better than the smooth look. I feel the zed just needs something at the back end, especially the LWB models. Go for it IMHO. :)
  21. Any bigger pics? They must be the size of a postage stamp.
  22. Not immactulate then is it. DODGY! LOL
  23. Try and get 'silvertec' bulbs. Think they are made by Philips. You'll get rid of the 'fried-egg' look of fitting orange bulbs behind clear light defusers.
  24. Not generally the type of thing I'd go for. But you've done it in such a subtle and classy way. I love it, think it looks fantastic. :)
