I think this has probably been discussed at great length many times. I'd like to know more about the electronic controled seatbelt recoil system. What is it exactly supposed to do and how does it work? Why does it break down and play havoc with the system causing the seat belts to either go slack, lock or fail to recoil? Is there either a way of disabling this or cleaning up contacts to make it work as it should?

...also, get the timing checked by the garage who fitted the belt....actually no, take it to Baggins and get him to check it!

If it's a Jap import then it'll more than likely be mapped for 100ron unless you've got a JWT chip in there or similar.. BP ultimate is 97ron and Optimax is supposedly rated at 98ron.

How do you abuse chinchillas exactly? I mean, what can you do them? Short of flushing them down the toilet or microwaving them? Strange animals, but kinda cute, my sister had them.

I used to have an Astra Cabriolet actually (MK3)...but I managed to shoehorn a V6 engine into it, so was a little faster than your average Astra. But that's in the past........

It does and then doesn't have that effect on mine. I guess the whole system is beginning to die somewhat. It'll fail its MOT for sure if it doesn't recoil.

I've heard this as well. Legrath told my a few days ago. My seatbelts do all manner of strange things. Drivers one wouldn't retract at all yesterday, it felt like it was jammed. Eventually though, it became unstuck and retracted. Passenger side is worse. Both you have to feed back inside anyway. Onld car I used to have I cleaned all the belts and sprayed them with back to black, made the one hell of a lot quicker at retracting. I'm interested in knowning more about disabling the electronics inside the seatbelts. Obviously now, they are rendered pretty useless and detrimental to the recoil of the things, so would be nice to know if anyone's done this mod.
