Well one nut or bolt was bound to do a runner while i am working on the zed. Still getting better :rofl: What type of nut that secures the steering arm bolt to main wheel disc, suspension frame thingy.

Sorry can someone give an idiots guide to flicking that clip thing open so i can remove the frickin hose. And how to remove the double ended hose holder. I am a right plank doing some things.

Erm what a crows foot type socket. I have the spanners that are closed with teeth inside that only spin one way.

Plodding along with removing the subframe. At the moment i have bled the front brakes and need to disconnect the hoses from the wheel arch that go to the disc calipers. Looks like i should do it near the wheel arch. But i cant get the things off:- I have already unscrewed a clip from the wheel arch.

Front shock absorber removal
I have finally started unbolting stuff on the front suspension subframe to drop it so i can get to the passenger turbo to replace it (yes i know :wack: ). I am being a good lad and taking photos with phone and labelling bolts and stuff in clear bags. How do i unscrew the front shock absorbers at the top to drop them? They have a bolt with a straight shank on it at the end and a bolt screwed on it?

Turbo Woes continued
Well to rewind. My zed has been sweet A ok really till last weekend when the passenger side turbo went pete tong. Before that i had the coolant bottle leak. I have not faffed about with any connectors until yesterday where i noticed the passenger side big black connector not connected but yet the drivers side one is. I am trying to see how i can fix it. Dont want to start one of those mud slinging contests :( The only zed meet i have been two is a xmas one at a Notts go kart track.

Well it never was. I just had a look :shock: That is a big square rectanuglar connector. Not the oval ones that are a blue\grey colour.

Picking a straws i guess. Last night i found on the passenger side a black rectangular connector not connected. I wonder if this caused the waste gate to seize. How can i unseize it. And even if i did i wonder if the turbos are still buggered. Help me obi wan you have a zed too lol.

I am going to try and make this if i can fix the boost leak in time. I swear if you could tie all the tubing from a zed in a straight line it would go round the world 2 times ergh.

HID Fitting
I did a DIY job (it actually worked :wack: ) using Mercedes HID lights connected to a modded headlamp shell. The HID ballast is tied with clips to pipe brackets.

.. the plot thickens. My mate dwarfy said that as my exhausts are not pooping any strange coloured smoke at all it is probably a hose that has come loose. Well i have had a look underneath and cant find anything not connected around the turbo area. But there is a load of stuff i just cant get to. And on the passenger side there is a rectangular black electrical connector that was unplugged (not like the more oval bluey grey ones). On the drivers side this connector is matched with the socket. I shall go checkout a guide for boost leaks. Who is the fool, the fool or the fool that follows him :xxx:

Air con wont work!!
The coolant bottle, at the very front of the engine bay, at the passenger side needs to be topped up with water. I found out that as mine had a leak and was empty zero cold air came out.

Yeah its not by the book as the turbos are supposed to be balanced. But i am out of work so will take me chances. How easy is it to get the passenger tub out from a jack up zed? EDIT: Wel got a scalding of some mates for this idea. Zed is grounded for now :(

Well 60K miles on the car. Had it for 2 years imported from Japan. I hardly rag it just cruise it. But hey i had 2 years of luck (aside from crash). So now the zed reaper is tapping the cash till lol. If its £400 for a pair of recon tubs and say £250 labor? How much extra to get some uprated ones?

I think i might have fubar'd the turbo by accident. Well i had the klever idea (or not) of removing the ignition coil relay at the passneger side - front of the engine bay to use as an immosbiliser. I tried to start car twice. Lots of whirring but car did not start. And next day after putting the boost on 9psi with the profec boost controller, overtaking a tractor on full loud pedal action the left turbo popped. Whadda think?

Well my zed has given 2 years loyal service. Apart from when i crashed it, my fault and when the clutch slave unit failed cos of a crap hotel speed bump. So i will wince and get a pair of new turbos. In the scheme of things my zed has been great. Unlike other things... like women :wack:

Whilst driving about in Yorkshirethe passenger side of the engine started to make a noise like a scalextric car with 415V up its arse. Well when i bring up the revs. Turbo power is half with the needle on the dash not going beyond half way. So is me turbo buggered and how much to replace? Bum grapes :(

Cant find fuses for some things
Go through the entire fuseboard in the drivers well. But i cant anymore faulty fuses. I say this as the electric windows wont angle the mirrors nor retract. Also the rear wash\wiper is not working. I also have looked under the bonnet. Bumgrapes.

Tears from an angel
Had a scare going up to Leeds on saturday. Pulled into services and lo the zed was leaking fluid. from the offside front. Worried the car would overheat i brought a whole box of Volvic mineral water to replenish lost water. Well the engine response never waivered. I was fortunate to stay in a hotel that had a halfords next to it. So i parked up the zed outside. The leak was from the bottle next to the wheel arch. Some friendly yorkhsire chappie pointed out that the leak was from the refigerent\cooler bottle for heating and air con lol. So it was a false alarm. The plastic under wheel arch cover was frayed and touches the wheel on full lock. Which made the cowling damage the coolant bottle. So ma zed was leaking water, i was panicing for no reason. Anyways here is a pic of the zed ouside halfords with ma yorkshire pudding looking bemused reading a Terry Prattchet book :smash:
