  1. Both my zeds have had knackered lock barrels. Lucky I got remote clifford thing now :-). Seems to be quite common though. Dave
  2. Happy birthday Si, have a good one mate!
  3. You wont believe this but its snowing outside in southborough, Kent. When I say snowing I don't just mean any of this piddly british stuff. Its PROPER snowing!! And we've been walking around in t-shirts in summer weather for the last two days! The flakes are so big I thought it was leaves blowing off the trees. Dave
  4. 1 please (paid by paypal). Dave
  5. Very, very nice phots mate. Dave
  6. My cars been standing for a couple of weeks as I've been injured. The battery was flat yesterday (never happened before) so I used jump leads and it all went fine and dandy. Drove it for a bit then brought it home, turned it off. Checked it would start and it did, if maybe a little weak but I had only done a few miles. This morning it was flat again. I guess the battery may need replacing, any thoughts. Everything else is fine, so I don't think the alternator is the problem?? Maybe it just needs running for a bit longer to properly re-charge the battery, or top up the fluid?? Any thoughts?? Dave

  8. Thats a great picture Dave. Good on your old man. Dave
  9. H*ll mate ,thats a bit much all at once. I remember feeling like that after I left the Marines. Civvy street was giving me a solid kick into touch, thought I'd got 12 points, then when I went to collect my licence and insurance for the producer my mot was out (I was on resettlement from the forces so all my belongings were in storage). Then I got lucky: got a speed awareness course, and the police had some christmas spirit and didn't press charges on the MOT. Phew! I'm sure it'll turn around for you to mate. Just stay calm and don't do anything stupid. Dave
  10. My mate has just phoned me. He got back from Bali a couple of days ago. Great waves, got a solid beating into the reef several times, sounds like fun! I've still got scars from when I was out there two years ago.Dave
  11. Why did he say it had been removed from the old car though Si?

A wheel barrow wiv per4mance air intake, and extra large exhausts/handles. edit: only messing mate!
  13. You're making me envious now Jon! I've just spent an hour looking through that site checking out the pictures. I really wish I was near some decent surf again. Worse thing is that after not doing it for many months I'll probably be rubbish again and it'll take me a few sessions to get back into it. End up spending thousands on a holiday but only get a few days good surf. Dave
  14. Si,what was the history of the engine, or rather what did he tell you?
  15. Kinky blo*dy mice !! lmao, but disturbed!
  16. happy birthday Jon!
  17. Hello mate, hope the deployment is going ok. There's not really any surf up this way. I've seen pictures of ok surf on the south coast once in a blue moon but thats about it. Theres a kent surf website that has some pictures but the surf is tiny. I think it would make me depressed travelling and checking it everyday and having loads of people surfing tiny surf. I was in Poole for several years and didn't get one good wave. Its too inconsistent and mostly just wind-chop. Let me know if you are doing any weekend trips to the SW though, maybe we can split the travel costs. I may be able to sort somewhere to stay. I've seen a lot of pictures from Scarborough way lately. Yorkshire is a bit of an undiscovered and unexpected surf area. Some very heavy waves. Dave
  18. Bloody hell mate, you don't want to be out in on-shore winds like that!! You wont come back in!Wait till the winds are offshore then the waves are good. Heres a phot of my Zed surf wagon with an almost 8ft mini mal and a 6'6" short board in :D Don't like the salty sand in the car but needs must and all that :wack: Dave
  19. Someone put that on last year!
  20. Give up everything and just go surfing!! Thurso looks awesome! Yours helpfully Dave
  21. I had that problem with my old zed as well. Zogg, which part of ssw cornwall are you from mate? have we had this conversation before?? :nana2:
  22. They do on the back :D Just realised they are still oem brakes in that photo, but anyways I use the spare wheels on the back. I've been trying to find some cheap 18inch alloys so I can do the front and back. You might as well have the mindset that you'll need new tyres and new brake pads / discs if you go to a track day. There's no defence for the OEM brakes Dave! they are not capable of coping with track days, full stop. Mine had fairly new fluid and uprated pads, and good discs. They are just not able to dissapate the heat from driving on the track. I'd got my gtr setup only a few days before the trackday but didn't want to risk not having the car on the road for the trackday so didn't fit them. I used my OEM ones because I had never had a problem with them on the road, even braking hard from 160 odd. I'd never had fade or any other problems no matter how hard I drove.
  23. Safety boost matbe? Its pretty obvious when they are working, theres not much lag but you should definately notice the power compared to a calibra.
  24. Probably PK having a practical joke.....
  25. Oh yeah, I'll have one of those! in fact I'll have two please, lovely dogs. I like huskies, you've got to be a little careful with the malumutes to keep them friendly to strangers. Huskies are friendly to anyone, useless guarddogs!! There's a malumute here on the stables who hasn't got a very switched on owner, it just goes mental at anyone and anything. The owner doesn't let it say hello to anything because he thinks it will have a go. IMO it makes them worse because it just makes them bark more. Beautiful dog though, get a sled, that'll keep him exercised :-)
