dash in method
Do a search on here and TT.net and you'll find it. Bit of a bugger to do apparently but some people say its ok. I've had a new heater matrix hanging around for a year now! reckon it'll go in for next winter though, it was bloddy freezing last winter. Dave

Yeah, I usually put them on. BUT I did go to the same b&q the other day and left them off :).

Engine hiss...

Hay feaver
Although it doesn't 'cure' a bad reaction, eating local honey is good for building an immunity to local pollen. My missus used to get it bad but doing this seems to help quite a lot. Dave

Auto Gearbox
Also automatic transmission section here http://www.300zx.co.uk/cgi-bin/manual.cgi page 75 looks like a good start.

Auto Gearbox
Do this diagnostics mate, and look in the online manual for suggestions. Auto Transmission Diagnostic: If you automatic transmission is acting erratically, may it be shifting too hard, shifting too late, shifting too early, etc. try the diagnostic to isolate the problem. The diagnostic, like the main computer diagnostic, may show an error code if it reads a sensor or circuit that is not within factory specs. If the problem is mechanical, the diagnostic won't show it. If it's electrical, then the diagnostic gives a general idea where to start looking to correct the performance. Procedure: 1. Have the engine at normal operating temperature, in P with the overdrive switch on. 2. Start engine. The AT light (1.) should go out after 2 sec. 3. Turn the ignition off. 4. Move selector to drive D by using the Push Release button (2.). If not equipped, use the brake pedal 5. Set overdrive switch to OFF. 6. Wait 2 seconds and turn ignition switch ON. 7. Wait 2 seconds and move selector to 2. 8. Set overdrive switch to ON. 9. Move selector to 1. 10. Set overdrive switch to OFF. 11. Depress accelerator pedal fully and release it. 12. The codes will begin to flash. Theres one long flash that signifies the start of the sequence. Following should be 10 short flashes. Then it repeats. 1.AT light 2.Shiftlock Error Codes: All 10 flashes the same = No error codes detected. 1st flash longer than others = Revolution sensor is shorted or disconnected. 2nd flash longer than others = Speed sensor circuit is shorted or disconnected. 3rd flash longer than others = Throttle sensor circuit is shorted or disconnected. 4th flash longer than others = Shift solenoid "A" circuit is shorted or disconnected 5th flash longer than others = Shift solenoid "B" circuit is shorted or disconnected 6th flash longer than others = Overrun clutch solenoid circuit is shorted or disconnected 7th flash longer than others = Lock-up solenoid circuit is shorted or disconnected 8th flash longer than others = Fluid temperature sensor is disconnected or A/T control unit power source circuit is damaged. 9th flash longer than others = Engine revolution signal circuit is shorted or disconnected 10th flash longer than others = Line pressure solenoid circuit is shorted or disconnected All the same with no long start flash = Battery low, been disconnected, or control unit has just been reconnected.

I wonder how dead the roads/beaches will be on Saturday?
Gonna go for a blast tonight when the air cools down, hopefully it'll still be quiet. Went into town in tunbridge earlier and the roads were rammed as normal, hopefully just people on the way to the pubs. With any luck they'll stay there. Dave

Big ole beasty!
Pmsl! Bloody ell mate thats a bit full on! don't think I'm gonna go looking for them. Not sure where they are but I've seen a few more. When I let the one go yesterday (if you kill them they let out a hormone that attracts all there hardcore mates) it took off and spun round in front of me and hovered staring at me for a bit! I expect them abroad but not here.

Castle Combe trackday with UJCC
Anyone up for this? It's looking pretty likely I'll be there now. Monday the 7th. A really good choice if you want to get some track time as there's only 6 or 7 cars on track at a time and its really chilled. You get the whole day so more than enough time on track. Dave

A cool 300ZX vid if anyone's interested.
Good vid Si.

Dyno day
From what I've seen on here over the last year or so (and I may be wrong) the NA's don't get that much better mpg than TTs, you just don't have to worry about the turbos going. I guess tyres will be a little cheaper because you havn't got the power to rip them up as much, but they are still the same size. Dave

Where Does Manual Boost Controller Go
I killed my first zed by not understanding enough about what was going on with the boost. Have it very clear that if you are boosting too high without knowing it you WILL destroy your engine. Boost jets IMO are shite, and def shouldn't be installed without a good boost gauge and plenty of caution. Whats worse: a few hundred for an electronic boost controller or a few thousand for new pistons/rings/gasket/labour etc.

Emissions
Don't know if it would help in this case but there's a 'fix' you can do to reduce the levels, I think its just unplugging a small pipe and it reduces the level considerably :wack: Try a search, I'm sure I remember reading it ages ago.
