  1. Or maybe the Zed could use a run up to Bristol! Good idea - I'll pm you after the Easter hols.
  2. Thanks - will ask the garage to do this. Cheers!
  3. Tried to fix my broken lock on the drivers door this morning and found the root cause - a broken rod and connector in the bottom of the drivers door. Cut my hands to shreds to get to them, but where they go is a pig of a place to access. Thus I might as well just replace the whole door. I don't suppose any knows / has drivers and passenger doors in silver? Not really wanting any other colour as will then have to do a respray!
  4. I am planning a full service anyway - plugs, oil, fuel filter and so it sounds like I can ask the garage to check the harness connections also.
  5. That might explain the hard ride on the rears then! Thanks Richard for the view.
  6. Just a quick consensus required really. I have just removed a set of Gaz coilovers from the Zed and was wondering how much they would be worth? They are in ok condition but the rears felt really hard - even when adjusted to the softest setting. Great for going around a corner, but not when living on a road with speed bumps!! Pictures as below: And - Thanks, Greg
  7. Since I re-taxed and started using the Zed again this month (after a winter hibernation), when cold, and for the first 3-5 miles of town driving, it seems, under gentle acceleration to hesitate at just under 2k revs, for a few seconds, as if misfiring, and will continue unless I change gear or put the foot on the accelerator, which seems to overcome it and is then fine..until the next acceleration. Once warm, its not there, so my obvious thoughts are something is sticking or restricting flow of either fuel or air. Its a new issue that I can only guess has arisen from being off the road for five months. Any thoughts?
  8. I wish we had more people like Jeremy Clarkson around. This country has gone soft. You need to balance out the outspoken with the opinionated. People just read too much into what he does and in my opinion he speaks what many of us think.
  9. The bodykit almost looks like a diy job where somone has got carried away with the grp/filler and attempted to create something from out of a manga movie - a "frankinzed or a "modzilla".. Mind you, if you replaced the body panels with std ones, the car might actualy be a good one. Not the most beautiful of zed's around!
  10. I am looking also, but waiting for a Twinz group buy as this is the ideal one I think for a standard rear bumper.
  11. Does anyone know of where to get a proper dual air intake outside of the US? All the top Z tuning places sell them, but I can't find anywhere outside the US selling them. Ideally somewhere in the UK.. Looking for either the Y shaped version or the JWT style (not joined) version. Would also consider 2nd hand pipework, but looking to get new filters. Thanks in advance!
  12. Yup same here - count me in. Wanting a few Twinz parts... for the summer.
  13. Looking to improve cooling on the Zed and fill a big gap behind the front bumper with a front mounted intercooler. Where is a good place to get a kit from or has anyone one they wish to sell? I thought Japspeed did a kit but their website does not list one - only side mounted intercoolers. Any help appreciated.
  14. Autoglym polishing products... think they are a hint...
  15. Looking to get a rear diffuser and the Twinz one looks good...
  16. I was told by a client today that using supermarket fuel is not recommended as it "watered" down as he put it - possibly to keep costs down. Is there some truth to this? I only use Tesco super as this is the only 99RON fuel around where I live for the Zed, but if there is more to this, then maybe I need to change. He apparently was told this by a dealership, as the supermarket fuel can cause issues with catalytic converters and other post-combustion parts. Anyone shed any thoughts on this? Greg
  17. Please add me to the list please! Car is working again and it needs a drive across into the New Forest!
  18. Is there also room for another? My zed is working again - courtesy of a replacement clutch/cylinder. I pick it up tomorrow... Can't wait! Please let me know! Cheers!
  19. Jeff and Noel - why don't you both team up to offer the ultimate in Zed tuning? Mind you - the banter is interesting :)
  20. Thanks chaps for this info. I will pass onto the garage to determine. Will let you know what they find next week. Greg
  21. What are the symptoms of the clutch going / gone in the Zed? I have a feeling my clutch has gone in the Zed. I went to the gym without issue. Parked up and when I came back to the car, it started fine, but it would not engage first gear. The clutch pedal was really light. Turned the engine off and the gear was able to engage first, but when I started her up, the car lurched forward (as if the clutch was already engaged). This is without pressing the pedals. After a few attempts I gave up and pushed the car back into a parking space. Since it was in a public car park which I had to pay for I had to get it towed to a garage where is it currently waiting for diagnosis. Any ideas? Has the clutch gone or is it something to do with the manual gearbox? Its a 93 Jap import LWB BTW if this helps? Any help appreciated as the garage it is at are not Zed specialists... Greg
  22. I have the Bosch also - perfect in every way so far.
  23. I have been looking for parts to complete my zed and saw this on youtube recently. It is a Zed with a Hiro rear cover for the rear lights - see below. I already have the side skirts and rear arches, but want to achieve the whole look as in the yellow one. Do I start searching on the Japan Yahoo auctions do you think? Any help appreciated!
  24. The current Zed (no.2) only owes me 4-5k in total (2k for the original and about 2-3k in mods, servicing etc.). So, for the smile factor and uniqueness, it is the best Jap car I have had for the money. I have had S15 Spec R, S14a, R33GTR, 350GT, Mitsi VR4 and they all cost me loads more to run, modify and love and although the Mitsi VR4 Legnum was the best car ever designed for living with (280bhp+, 4wd and estate), it was let down by 15-17mpg always and by looking like a brick on wheels. The Zed looks like a sports car, feels like a sports car and performs like one. It gives me more satisfaction cleaning it, learning about it and restoring it than any of the past Jap cars I have had. Priceless! (Well - until it goes wrong anyway!)
  25. Its got nearly the same interior as my cls! Obviously the same parts bin! :D You have gone for the best colour and it will be nippy! Very nice!
