The club needs the most number of members possible. The less the number of Zeds around, the less members in the club....

Lots of spare parts - garage clearout!
So, in preparation for a possible move, I have been asked to get rid of some of the Zed parts in the garage. So, whatever you see below is for sale. It all needs to go to a new home! Please let me know if anything is of interest. Then I found some more Zed parts... And some more.. Any questions, please ask. Greg

Rear fog light MOT
Stephen - I always take the Zed to one particular mot tester each year as I know they are strict yet pragmatic. This year they saw my show plates as being the only mot failure, and rather than bring me up on it, they got a replacement set on the car for less than a tenner (with my permission of course) and thus it passed with no advisories. Doing more than the minimum means I will go back to them again and again. Thus is the sort of mot tester you need to go to, not someone who brings you up on some petty light issue. My foglight is in the centre panel and it passes every time.

Exhaust
Looking for a replacement exhaust system for the Zed. The Trust one I have has a large crack by the silencer, which is annoying. The local exhaust centre were saying "you'll have to replace it".. Expert as they are. It could possibly be welded but longterm I am not sure it would be worthwhile. So, seeking a replacement in good condition. Long shot I know! It's for a Lwb.

So why a Zed, people?
I am working back in time. My jap craving started back in 2001 with an s15 spec r, 350gt, r33 gtr, Legnum vr4 before I started looking for something that would be a rare sight on the roads. So it was a day at Japfest and an old friend who had a black na that convinced me it was the way forward. Now on my second TT.

Complete boot trim pieces for sale and other things!
If anyone wants any boot trim pieces - these are available cheaply. Just need to make some more space in the garage. Collection preferable from Dorset, or can get around Berkshire/Hampshire/Wilsthire (with work), or can bring to Japfest. These are a pain to package! Looking for £45 for the lot or £10 each. Door sills £15 for the pair posted. Fuse cover - free to anyone who buys something - it's not worth diddly! Right hand scuttle panel in good condition £45 posted. These are £65 in Zcentre new. Black front panel with good Z badge in good condition £20 posted. These two are much easier to package! Any questions please ask!

anyone know what this is?
It could be what we call a widget. Useful but we don't know why.

indicators failure
Check your fuses in the drivers side footwell, especially any 10A ones.

Err..no sidelights..
Thanks Jeff. Have got on my back and checked all the fuse connections/looms and all seems OK. Have also got no indicators also, no clicking sound also. It's weird as the car starts no issue. What about the TCU? I recall replacing it a while back when my dash had issues. It's got me stumped! And it's likely to be something really simple!

Err..no sidelights..
OK I have removed the pod and found fog attached to the side light wiring. So, I have completely removed it and tidied up the wiring. So, forgetting the fog light, I still have no side lights at all. It seems there is no power in the wiring harness that goes to the pod connector. The middle connector has power as the rear windscreen heater has power and comes on. I have replaced the sidelight 10A fuse and double checked all the fuses in that lower foot-well fuse box - they all appear fine. So, with no side lights, main beam only, something else has to have blown. But what?

First cars
Technically it was a Skoda 120. It had a 1.2L lawnmotor engine in the rear and a top speed of 65 mph if you were lucky. It had no locking doors but it never got nicked! Could be down to the bright blue paper mache paintwork and black vinyl roof!

TwinZ new wide body kit
Its better, but it loses some of the Zed originality - it definitely looks modified.

What did you do to your zed today?
Got my new Ultralite GT2's shod in Yokohama's. That's me spent out for the month!
-
Err..no sidelights..
Checked side light fuse and all fuses, that's always where I start. Will pull the pod off and check the wiring. I know the fog ground is to the body, as it's near the fuse box, but where it picks up the live, that's an unknown. if the live is to the sidelights, then where is a better location to splice into?

Err..no sidelights..
OK, so apparently my fog light wasn't working today for the MOT, so the garage tried to fix this by checking the wiring. The wiring seems OK, so I said I would bring it home and check all the fuses. Have done that and still can't fathom what is wrong. Now I have no side lights. Have checked the appropriate fuse and it is fine so I am a little perplexed. No sides, no fog, but yet have mains. Any thoughts?

Tyres help!
So I have got a set of new Ultralites sat in my garage which I am tempted to put on the Zed. They are 18" x 8.5j all round - not staggered like my current wheels. Anyway I can't get a decent answer for what would be ideal tyre sizes to put on front and rear and stay within the 3% ideal tolerance. I have had tyre places recommending from 225/40's to 265/35's. I want the widest possible on the rear but possibly less on the fronts - to replicate a slightly staggered set up. Thoughts? Also, my thoughts are on Yokohama Advan Sport V105's, Pirelli P zero Rosso's, Federal 595 rs-r's or Falken FK453's. Anyone know much about these tyres? Ta!
