First Zed - 1993 LWB TT Manual
No that's call a typo lol! I couldn't say who made that particular wing, my kit was from Wings West though, but there are so many out there.

First Zed - 1993 LWB TT Manual
Hi mate, hope you enjoy it, reminds me of my first Zed which was black as well with w wing like that, but was an SWB. I reckon you will have some rust to deal with going by the engine bay, hopefully not too bad.

300ZX TT - A18GCK
It's been off the road since November, the roads are salted here from November and still salted now, and it's no fun driving in that, just rusts the cars as well, then I've recently had a knee operation, but recovering well. Also over winter stripped all the brakes and swapped most bits and had the calipers sent away for repair, the cash spending just carries on matter what car you have ? Will be taxed and MOT'd again at the start of April though....the price of super unleaded is incredible!

The price of the paint job would terrify me I think!

Loving following this mate, great to see all the work going on, the amount of money spent over the years by everyone on this car is mega!

Glad to see the shell is in good order mate, was sure it was, but you never know what bodges can be hiding under the paint.

New owner - Manual TT
Welcome mate, typical another Scottish member joins when I don't have a Zed! I'm over in Airdrie.

300ZX TT - A18GCK
It's going to be a masterpiece when finished mate, well done! There was a few of those coolant pipes changed at the time the first injectors got fitted, weren't on the bill though as it was a late addition as they noticed them when putting the car back together, but with all the time going into this, makes total sense to freshen them all up. It's always the same with cars, just went to change the rear discs and pads on the C63, which turned into discs, pads, parking brake shoes, brake dust shields, caliper rebuilds and fluid change.....they always escalate lol but no point doing half a job.

The F1 Thread
I've went right off Red Bull over the last few months, never take the blame for anything, always someone elses fault. Max really thinks laws don't apply to him, I will say it's partly due to these modern tracks having little to no gravel traps, so they can go off road and continue.

I will always love Zeds mate, had 2 crackers, that one and and SWB TT. I would get another but it's a struggle to find one that's nice.

300ZX TT - A18GCK
Damn that's a thick stack eh! I'm starting to build up a pile just the same on the C63 I've had for a year and a half, wonder if I will keep it as long as I kept the Zed?

300ZX TT - A18GCK
For info it did used to work, when the car first came to the UK in 2005/2006 or something like that the cruise control was faulty, but was repaired and working solidly. Hopefully just something daft ?

It's in the right hands for sure, Jimmer will be able to advise on whatever route you choose ?

300ZX TT - A18GCK
Ahh bugger mate, that's a damn shame! I can still mind the figures when I had it compression tested in 2013, lowest was 162 and highest 166, pretty solid at the time. Jimmer will have it all sorted out for you, his rep is superb as you will know, and low comp can be caused by various things, so not always that bad....but if you want big power, would need to rebuild in any case.

Yellow UK 300zx
Zed prices are on the up, but that's a crazy price.

300ZX TT - A18GCK
As always mate you are treating the car very well indeed. Are Protuner the go to guys these days for Zeds? I had heard some bad stories in the past but maybe things have changed now.

Cheap injector replacement
I would second Jimmer, will have some there, buying on ebay you are taking a chance.

300ZX TT - A18GCK
It doesn't look too bad but I've seen similar things like that on other cars, look fine then before you know it...leaking. I don't know how thick the steel is on the tank, that would be the thing that would sway me on the course of action. If it's thick, it would prob be ok, but if thin then I would be looking at replacement for peace of mind. The idle thing is weird, car idled not too bad for me, but I know it's been mapped and had different injectors and stuff since I had it, could be various things causing it, I would check for air leaks as this always messes with idle. Do you have Conzult or similar? Though if it is going to Jimmer, he's obviously the man for this ?

Run out today
Hope you had a good drive bud ?

Import or buy in UK
Cars from Japan will usually be much cleaner than a UK car, but will still need work as plenty of rubber components at the least will need replaced, dashboards cracked from sun etc. If you can find a car already here that isn't rusty and which has been well looked after I would go for that personally.

You are doing the car proud mate, well done.

MOT test updated re HID retrofitted headlamps
Like anything else MOT related, it's only if they can see it. If it's hidden then are not allowed to move anything to check, so a neat tidy install and most won't bother.
-
93 TT falls on its face thru most the RPMs, fine unless in boost
If the car was fine, you then worked on it an it's now broken, then you need to re-check every single thing you have touched, as something is incorrect.

Long Term Storage Procedures?
Another thing people forget about is when the engine has a cambelt, if it is not moved/started for a long time, the belt can take on that shape, and once moved again they get damaged as they are forced to move and bend in ways they are no longer good for.
