  2. hey all does anyone know the exact mechanical modifications to the stillen smz and gtz over a stock tt zed? are all these mechanical parts available? has anyone here driven either and what are they like? has anyone followed these specs exactly as a tuning path over here? thanks!
  3. welcome to the the world of the zed!!!
  4. run the engine until its a bit warm then the pipes come off easily.
  5. its well easy to change, take off the pipe for access, unplug and unscrew the s1, screw in the s2 and plug in and reconnect the pipe.
  6. the 190 cosworth is awesome i remember going in one when it was brand new when my dad used to travel to the merc factory. recently a friend got one and its really a cool car, underdog to the e30 m3.
  7. also contact an importer who might be able to source you a nice one around your budget.
  8. remember s15 spec-s = non turbo s15 spec-r = turbo. beleive you will regret not getting a turbo! keep looking around or save a bit more, then get that s15!
  9. the interior of the s15 is much nicer than the s14a. if you look around you will find the odd few less than 10 grand, trust me. There was a japanese lady selling one in a local paper not too long ago, who purchased it brand new from japan and had it serviced in a nissan dealership here. she wanted 8500 for it. i wanted it but insurance was too high for me. beleive me they are around your just have to keep looking. or import one. the s14a and s15 are very similar technically but completely different looks wise, i say keep lookin for that s15 if you want it. the s15 interior and dashboard looks so much cooler and its always nice to have a car that looks good inside too; the vents and the speedo cluster that has the rev counter in the middle and that boost guage!. the s14a looks typically dull japanese from inside.
  10. bridgestone expedia n2 s03 on the rear and continental contisport n1 on the front, stock wheels.
  11. sonix, thats a lot of money! i live in london too... have you done some serious mods to your car?
  12. i'm fully comp with a plan 22 years old, 2 years ncb, twin turbo uk car, exhaust and intake, paying 850!
  13. im 22 with a twin turbo, aplan was the best, admiral was cheap too.
  14. the S15 is awesome, I drove a Silvia S15 JDM Spec R Aero in Thailand once. its awesome, very different to a zed but great nonetheless. I would have an S15 over a 350z i reckon they are that good. the sr20det motor is rock solid. BTW there is a model report available for it so you can personally import it. Heres a list of every car theres a model report for http://www.vosa.gov.uk/vosa/publications/model%20reports%20list.pdf http://www.modelreportsdirect.com has full details about the esva conversion and they have the model report its about 500 quid for a one time use of the report.
  15. if only there was a model report available... 2001 spec...
  16. in japan they made z32s upto 1999, in usa they stopped imports in 95/96 i think.
  17. hahaha i was gettin bored at work so ive been trawling through the old scriptures, trying actually to find some history on my own car thats the only bit i can find unfortunately! also lookin at how the forum seemed to have a lot more technical talk back in the day. its a great thing the stored info on this forum!
  18. i just realised my car is the one harve refers to in the last post of this thread... http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=2379&highlight=marshall+bletchley
  19. i just checked, i did buy it at the above link price. hth
  20. yes you have only a valet key, right? the fluting on a normal key is supposed to be different. i got mine from : http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110016934255&ssPageName=MERC_VIC_ReBay_Pr4_PcY_BIN_Stores_IT&refitem=110007564787&itemcount=4&refwidgetloc=closed_view_item&usedrule1=CategoryProximity&refwidgettype=cross_promot_widget but i'm sure mine were a bit cheaper.
  21. next for me
  22. i just bought a new blank master and new valet key from the states, i previously only had a copy master key. the cutting is identical, but the fluting is different. SO you can take your valet key to a key cutter and cut to a nissan blank. and it will open the glove box because of the correct fluting and will be the full key. my local key cutters insisted the 2 keys wouldnt work in the same ignition because of different flutes even though i explained that 1 was a valet key, i told them to just do it anyway and it worked, so just tell them to cut it if yours say the same to you.
  23. i got mine exactly a year ago, uk car 1992 with only 36k miles and fnsh and 1 famous owner. never had a single problem. i paid 6.5k i guess i paid over the odds but i'm happy, i got one of my dream cars an it looked like new.
  24. jeez thats awful, if i saw that car the owner would get a punch for being so stupid.
