Speed Kills??????!!!!!!!!!!!!!
have many of you driven on the autobahns? i found it all made much more sense over there, and the fact that there are no speed limits makes bad drivers use them better. believe me, when you are doing 130km/h in a rented corsa and there is a f**king great merc or beemer heading for your boot at nearer 200km/h - you move back into the slow lane. there are no middle lane crawlers in germany!!! when it rains heavily, they impose temporary speed limits (60 or 70km/h i think) and really enforce them.

Stolen 350Z
Steve, Truly sorry to hear this - I know how you are feeling. My house was burgled just before xmas and on top of the £9000 of gear taken from the house were the keys to my new Mini Cooper (and the car). Gut feeling from the off was that the car was stolen to order because there was no sign of it for ages. I heard last week (3 days after the insurance co. accepted the claim) that the car was found just under a mile away from the house with a bit of damage but nothing too awful. I hope you get a good result Ste

A political debate - I know how you like them ;o)
i must say that i saw that and thought she did very well - she embarassed paxman enough to make him have a sly dig at her about five minutes later when she wasn't there to shut him up any more! i generally agree with the rest of the rantings about pc bullshit though!!!

Funny!
the profiles section is quite a good idea - but i'd reccomend the guy who works in airport security to leave out the part about his past as a corrupt karachi gangland cop, now living over here and in posession of several illegal firearms. well if he wants to keep his job anyway!

i'm sure i read something a long, long time ago about this being the next generation skyline. the guy who wrote the article was up in arms because it has lost the trademark twin round rear lights

apple i-pod
i've seen an add-on for it that is an fm transmitter - you can then tune your car (or presumably any other) radio into the signal and have x thousand tracks at your disposal. you could always use one of those cassette adapters with a wire that you plug into the headphone jack but that's just not as impressive as beaming the music straight into your stereo is it now i might just have to buy one

apple i-pod
has anyone got one of these yet, or had a play with someone else's? are they really as good as all the hype or do i only want one because they look cool? answers on a postcard please. (or you could just reply to this post if you wanted to save yourselves the postage) cheers, ste

best insruance knockback ever?
just been reading the thread below on insurance and it reminded me of when i was phoning round for quotes on my first car. i was 17 and had just passed my test and bought myself a d reg 1.3 astra for about £500. i phoned a company that had a full back-page advert in some crap car magazine that 17yr olds buy which was caliming to be the performance vauxhall specialists, catering for young drivers, modified cars, convictions and bans - you name it, they will do it. nice one, i thought, should be able to sort me out. after i had given my details etc etc the guy at the other end said to me "sorry mate, there's no way we'd ever touch anyone your age on A CAR THAT POWERFUL"

daily driver?
thanks for your comments, i think that was what i wanted to hear?! i'm in the middle of buying a house at the moment after one abored attempt at buying what turned out to be an utter money-pit so i can't face selling my car and searching for a z until that is finished with. maybe i should just stay where i am and get the z now
-
daily driver?
stuart - thanks for the offer, if i'm looking like actually getting one then i'll definately give you a shout! i suppose the type of driving i do is my biggest worry - stop and start driving through traffic with a couple-of-hundred-mile round-trip probably every month or so. i would be interested to hear how many others use their z daily or have it as their only car

Blue Z at RR last Sunday
i beleive that is paul c's car

daily driver?
i've been lurking on here for ages now, ever since i first started thinking about getting a z, and i keep changing my mind as to just how sensible it would be to get one. my sensible head says: i'm 22 and i live in manchester - insurance companies tend to laugh down the phone at me when i call for a guote on practically anything although i'd consider myself a reasonably practical chap, i possess approximately neither any mechanical skills nor a great desire to get any i have no drive or garage so i can only really keep one car meaning the z would be my only car my "but i want one" head says: i've got a pretty good job so can probably afford it i'm not a million miles away from gps evil split personality says: fvck it - its only money would i be fooling myself to think i could run a z as a daily driver, bearing in mind that my drive to work is 7 miles through busy traffic which takes around 30 minutes - would this knacker the engine? would i be spending half my time back and forth to the garage and the other half without a car? convince me....

Some companys deserve to go under
god, must have been on a rant there - an entire paragraph with no punctuation

Some companys deserve to go under
i'm with you on this one james - its just plain bad buisiness practice not to return a call. i realise that there isn't someone on the other end of the phone deciding that it would really piss me off if they didn't call back so they won't bother but it doesn't make it any less annoying when you are trying to hand over your hard-earned. i get annoyed waiting in line at the checkouts in shops too - i'm stood here doing by very best to spend money in your shop yet still you make me stand here for fifteen minutes waiting to hand it over - bunch of arse! ste

Check this Hummer out

NZR - Trek Bikes
i used to do a fair bit of mountain biking, as far as i know trek make pretty decent bikes. depends what you want it for - anything for under £500 won't stand up to much serious punsihment but if you just need it for popping down the shops & wobbling back from the pub on then i would say that is all you need. hth ste
