The door card is simple enough to remove and it would make it a damn lot easier for you to do a good job of your install. Definitely get some pictures up after. Sounds like a good idea if done well.

Any of you local guys wanna go for a drive in my car some time and tell me what you think this rattle might be?

Oil leak is coming from somewhere above the oil filter (not part of it) so possibly a gasket..? Rattle certainly isn't a heat shield as there aren't any left (new exhaust). It's a lower tone rattle and someone on here suggested it could be the propshaft bearing. Also need the crank seal replacing. Are you a local mechanic?

Oil leak needs sorting and possibly propshaft bearings to replace as well as an irritating rattle.

Looking for a mechanic that knows their way round my car a little better than my local guy. Some of the jobs I need doing are not expensive in the way of parts but more labour and I'm sure it'll be a lot quicker for someone who knows these cars well. Anyone out there wanna be my go to mechanic?

What about slow accelerating in 1st, coming off the accelerator pedal and feeling a "back and forth" kind of judder like there's excessive play in something... What might that be?

Having owned various 80s/90s Jap imports I actually find it a little odd the 300ZX never had a double DIN stereo as standard. I've seen pictures of people's feeble attempts at modifing the centre console to fit one. Who out there has done one they are proud of enough that they'll post up a picture..?
