  1. I even got an auto window closer from the same company. at the touch of a button while walking away both windows roll up and the mirrors fold in. (Damn I look cool). When I come back. Unlock with the keyfob and the mirrors fold back out. If I want to override it I just leave the folding switch in the open position.
  2. It works when the central locking is operated (much better in my opinion) or with the ignition.
  3. Urrrr.... don't wanna piss a few people off but I fitted this to mine yesterday... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/290606906792?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 Cheaper and works just fine. Couldn't be happier with it.
  4. That will look untidy in the engine bay. How do I go about tapping off direct from? the fuse box
  5. Or what are people's opinions on subtle white lights under the car rather than in the interior light coming one when it unlocks..?
  6. Wiring an window auto closer into my car. The unit will be in the driver's door by the window controls but it needs a 15A battery supply. Where's the closest/easiest to tap off?
  7. Yeah my hazards flash when I unlock (Can't run to my car that quick). I suppose having the sidelights come on instead would be better but I figure the interior light would be easier.
  8. I posted something similar a while back and various people were saying they had it on their Zeds and it was perhaps something wired off the alarm...
  9. As the title explains. I don't have streelights in my area and It's a pain finding my car in the dark. Many people with their modern cars take this novelty for granted. I've even heard that some Zeds do it however mine does not. I've already got my auto window closer and mirror folders to trigger when I lock it so the next trick bit is the interior light. Enlighten me, what's the simplest way?
  10. I bought a Bongo last week. It was imported in 1998 apparently so my only guess was it had never been cleaned inside since being in this country as I am now the owner of 5000Yen amd a Japanese plastic spoon still in it's wrapper.
  11. Speedboat! Best fun I had last summer. A mate bought an L200 last year and the seller chucked in a speedboat and trailer for an extra £500. Loved it! You don't need any tax, mot, insurance or license all you gotta do is get fuel in it and get it in the water. Done!
  12. It's gonna be awkward but worth it. Getting a ground should bestraight forward/easy enough. Getting a positive feed from one of the rear lights is the tricky part. It inolves a lot of fishing. I recommend a straightened out wire coat hanger. Urr.... hard to explain the route but it's down one side of the bootlid, through the rubber sleeve, above the headlining (remove the roof and rubber seal if you got it), all the way down the pillar where the seatbelt is/should be, then towards the back along beside the rear seat and under the rear speaker and then all behind the boot plastics round to the rear light then just crimp it into the light feed for the normal brake lights. You're basically gonna be spending a lot of the time fishing a wire behind all the interior trim peices. The route should become apparent as you work through it. Hope this helps. It's the best I can do without pointing at stuff.
  13. I'm all over facebook like a cheap suit!
  14. I texted various girls last night reminding them.... Going to see a lucky lady tonight! ;-) I'll let you know how it goes...
  15. Does that new short shifter rattle?
  16. I'm gonna be wanting to put 2 cars onto 1 policy soon too. I did look at Admiral's multicar policies a while back. Seemed quite expensive considering, as you say, you can only drive one at a time. Looked into it a bit more and the multicar policy was about the same price as 2 individual policies put together! The cheek!
  17. Sh*t has hit the fan this month and I'm low on cash. My own fault, should've checked a few things before buyng another car. Tax, MOT and Insurance due this month! So yeah, I'm an electrician. If anyone needs any electrical work done in the Dorset area let me know.
  18. Hit the light switch with the ipad. Tadaa!
  19. For anyone that's interested. I have bought my roadtrip car now. Got a '98 Mazda Bongo! IT was an ex childminders car so the interior was not pretty. Been scrubbing away at it all day! Now I just need to kit it out for the roadtrip. If anyone cares to make a donation towards it, they will be much appreciated. So far on my list of things needed is an extra 12v power point, some extra interior lights (I'm thinking just some subtle led strips along the sides of the headliner at various points), any generic stereo that can play mp3 cds (I got room for double din but don't wanna be spending much unless someone's got me an offer I can't refuse), some newer speakers, a 240v inverter socket and a 12v kettle! So if anyone's got any of thaty junk lying around let me know. Uploaded with ImageShack.us
  20. How would that have an impact on the power steering though? I could be wrong but I think it tends to happen more when I'm parked on uneven ground... I remember the very first time it happened the Hicas light came on at the same time. It's never come on during this fault since though.
  21. Just personal curiosity really. Every now and then (about once every 2 months or so) when I start up my car and pull away the speedo won't work and the steering will be real heavy. All I do to rectify it is switch the engine off and back on. Just wondered what was causing it...
