Thanks for the help mate, and thanks Jeff for the step by step instructions. looks like i've got my weekend planned now. think i may replace the speakers while the door cards are off (2 bird, 1 stone spring to mind).

if i can't fix the lock, do you reckon that its possible to swap the working lock from the passenger side to the drivers side and visa versa so that the drivers side still unocks both doors?

unfortunately mine hasn't got keyless remote entry. although i think i'm guna have to look into it if i can't fix this at the weekend.

just a quick question. is the central locking supposed to work from both doors? I only ask because went to lock my car yesterday, and the lock broke and spun round further than usual:asshole:. so now can't lock the car from the drivers side. went to lock it from the passenger side (for the first time) and it only locked the passenger side. i will try and fix the drivers lock at the weekend but if the passenger side isn't supposed to lock both doors then i'll leave that well alone.

i may have to get in touch with this place and get a quote on getting my zed completely sprayed, not sure if to have a colour change or just a freshen up.

as stated, is there anyone near to me with conzult who is willing to help me as my zed is running a bit rough.

once i found out exactly what was entailed in doin the egr, i have kind of backed out of the idea abit. although i still want to do the pcv's and hoses (can you pm me the prices ect as we discussed last night please). i am going to be checking the tps and iaa at the weekend and see if there is any problems there.

thanks for the help mate, just had a look but with my limited knowledge it makes no sense to me at all. what i did pick up though was that the engine needs to come out to do this and for me that really is not an option as this is my daily driver and i have no second car to get to and from work.

i don't know if it is failed but i was reading up that if the car is a bit slugish then to replace this, the pcv's and the fuel dampener and it would run alot better. the way my car is runnin at the moment, i'm willing to try anything as on start up the revs drop until it stalls but then it runs fine on the second start. also after giving it some and then returning to sensible driving it feels a bit restricted if you know what i mean. out of interest though, how would i go about deleting the egr? baring in mind i'm not very technically minded (i know how to sort the basics).

where would be the best and cheapest place to order a new egr valve from?

i still haven't managed to fit mine yet as still haven't managed to find an original holder. at the moment its home is the glove box (dangerous i know but my missus don't want me to keep it in the house)
