  1. Heres confidence for yer!... I think I know what your problem is mate! Replace the fuel filter, mine did exactly the same until I swapped mine for a larger capacity filter. Theres a 'how to' somewhere Im sure someone will link you up to it soon! Once removed, I shook all the fuel from the old filter and you wouldnt believe the crap that was in there. In my instance, I would accelerate hard from standing and then it was as if I had hit a limiter and the power just went! I raised off the throttle then slowly squuzed back on and it was fine. Hope this helps you. Oh btw I can let you have details of where to get the longer/higher capacity filter if you like.
  2. Heres some pics...I suppose if you want to make a copy or two just borrow this one!
  3. yup ok sorted...Danny, if you want to, you can mail me your address and Ill send t out to you early next week. I can send using the carrier at work (sneaky eh) so wont cost me/you owt! Once you have finished with it send back to Andy eh! Spread the lurvvve:) mail : 2badd@talktalk.net
  4. Sikoflex! Hasnt moved at all.
  5. Sold my Zed, will probably get another or maybe a skyline in a year or so (after college and other projects have finished) but am left with a boost leak tester-not the home-made pop bottle thingy but the circular aluminium plug with the tyre valve in the centre that fits into the induction intake. ...Now... what I was thinking, rather than sell it, I thought it would be good to sorta donate it to the club/forum members as way as a thankyou for all the help I recieved when things didnt go right with the car. I propose that a mod take possesion of the tester and put a 'sticky' in the help/advice forum-*boost leaker tester for loan to members* that sorta thing.LoanEE to pay postage blah blah Waddya think?? 7. I have a pair of 'good uns' you can have for free!!! not often you will get THAT deal from a Yorkshireman! ;)
  8. I work on the Hellaby industrial estate, but only drive the Zed to work on fridays...also frequent the gym next door to the estate so pass Hellaby in the Zed at weekends too!
  9. would also recommend cleaning any verdigris from temp sender terminals
  10. had similar when I inadvertantly left MAF unplugged but would also suggest temp sender connection. Hope you sort it mate.
  11. yes, its seans old car, as I recall it runs sweet with that ECU, have you got the passenger side seat belt sorted, Sean took me for a run in it and scared the life outa me? The ECU came with the car when imported, he was doing a fault code check (came up 55) when I noticed that SWAT label. You shouldnt have any trouble with the car, I do know that Sean spent lots of time and cash on her before he sold to you. Happy Zedding mate!!!
  12. was this in the car when you bought it? It looks very familiar...do you have a silver Zed bychance?
  13. yep still there if you want em BigDan always glad to help a fellow Zedder...its not often you will get something for nowt from a yorkshireman either so make the most of it! :)
  14. I have a pair of reasonably good ones (standard) you can have for free! Im in south yorkshire so possibly uneconomical for you to collect...but the offers there if you want em!

  16. That was Canklow bridge heading towards Brinsworth. Next time youre in the area gimme a shout, I only live around the corner from there!
  17. Was me! Were you in the Zed I didnt see you?? :)
  18. Thanks for the help, around here the police have regular drive by street sweeps probably checking the n/s of vehicles from the comfort of the seat of the police car :D as they drive along. As mentioned, the car was taxed at the time but apparently the disc was unnoticed/ or the policeman was a complete arse and decided to prosecute after noticing it on the o/s anyway. Ah well, its good to see the local constabulary out there clamping down on these villains aint it! ;)
  19. My son has just got a fixed fine for not displaying his tax disc, the disc however was in the windscreen but on the offside. The reason for this is that the holder had come loose and he had temporarily wedged it against the screen behind a pod mount for his boost gauge. Obviously the police when inspecting down my sons road were only checking the n/s of the vehicles! Is there legislation in place that states placement of the tax disc?
  20. Could be a number of things, cleaning a few terminals is the first to try.TPS terminals, MAF terminals and the yellow water temp sensor terminals are all common suspects and the cheapest solution to start with too ;) ...Oh and the IAAV ones too on the n/s rear of the engine!! Hope this sorts it mate.
  21. I swapped my IAAC valve when I had similar probs, as mentioned mine turned out to be the temp sender.....consequently, I have a IAAV you can have for nowt if you want it!
  22. can also be the temp sender too! (one with the yellow cap) try cleaning the verdigris from the terminals, best thing is...it aint gonna cost you a bean to try this fix first ;)
  23. Think I saw it today on the Barbot Hall Trading Estate in Rotherham, this one was gold and had a veilside rear spoiler. Gave him a flash of the headlights and a wave but must have thought I was a nutter as I was in my 'normal' car and not the Zed :D
  24. thx JJP, appreciated mate. Missed out it seems but hey never mind :)
