  1. Yeah great racing! What was schumacher thinking though!!! what a pie :)
  2. It was like that when it was fitted so nothings come loose or failed! Im betting somethings missing! The thought of which scares me a little!
  3. Ive recently had the suspension changed from the horrible rock hard coilovers that it came with from Japan, to a setup suggested to me by Ryan at Ztech. This was to fit standard Nissan shocks and fit lowered Eibach springs. I had them sent to me and fitted by a local garage. The rears went on no probs but they had to order extra bits for the front as the old setup did away with the standard plates, gaskets etc. Everything seemed to be working fine however a few people commented on the way the central piston that sticks out of the top of the mount in the engine bay seemed to move up and down far too much when you bounced the car up and down. I did notice a squidgy sound when it was first fitted but it was not bad so i chose to ignore it! Now after the suspension completing around 2000 miles there is horrible knocking noise from the front left and occasionally the right side! After it being inspected on ramps you can see how both side gaskets have split and failed thus causing metal on metal knocking! Do you think the garage has screwed up and missed something out? Ive looked at a diagram that shows what should be fitted and it seems pretty straight forward! Have I been unlucky? Does anyone have a link to some part numbers of the bits for the top front suspension so I can order them and make sure its right! What bugs me more is what might of happened under hard driving! That possibly it could of failed and thrown me off the road! Nice to know what little garages know about these cars even to trust them to fit something as simple as the front shocks n springs!
  4. thought about fairy liquid - guess its as safe as i dare use - cheers
  5. Got a bit carried away and accidentally sprayed a small amount of waxoil onto the belts. No problems running however when I turn on the heater/aircon, there is a squeeling noise from the belts. Is there an easy way to get this stuff off the belt?
  6. Of course its speeded up - towards the end the people move too quick!
  7. If your going by the gauge on the dash then your bound to get innacurate readings mate they are cack! So long as the dipstick reads ok. Why not do what most people do and get an aftermarket oil pressure gauge. The difference between the 2 gauges is scary! Sometimes the dash pressure reads 0.5 bar when the aftermarket reads 2 - 3 bar!!
  8. Just caught the back of it as it went down bell street in St a's. Was black with a big spoiler and multi-spoke wheels. Tried to catch up but traffic was too heavy.

And btw the gauge in the car is totally unreliable matey! I have an after market gauge that reads totally different from the cars original! Scary!
  10. I have 3 defi gauges in link system with a control unit. The gauges have been working fine but in the last day they are all over the place! The turbo boost is going nuts and every so often all 3 gauges just randomly turn themselves off and on! I know it sounds like a dodgy earth or power but i cant trace a problem anywhere! If one gauge is dodgy does it bring the others down also as they are linked together? Any advice is welcome
  11. To whom it concearns.... I have just renewed my insurance through Adrian Flux. I have been given discount through them as they advertise here and im a member of this site. I require proof that im a member of this club how do you go about getting it? Kind regards James
  12. Thought all Defi gauges are 60mm? Pretty sure they are.
  13. I had this recently happen to me too the boost gauge failed to move from zero! It turned out that the pipe running from the gauge to the solenoid had touched the exhaust manifold and melted onto it! I couldnt see it at first and because it was stuck to the exhaust after shut down! I know youve said you checked your pipes but check again it took me and 2 other mechanics to find a relativly obvious leak!
  14. An old Spielberg film called Duel is an excellent road thriller incase you never seen it :D
  15. Any chance of stickers my way? Muchly appreciated.

  20. Nice thanks for that. I take it the rears can be replaced with skyline discs also?
  21. Are these discs grooved? Or just bigger and better?
  22. I need better brake discs as the stock ones are no longer up to the job! anyone recommend a good set??
  23. When Ryan at Ztech set up my boost controller he floored it but never stayed in 1st gear long - then whacked it into second without letting off the gas!! It shifted faster than I thought was possible and because you dont hang around in first it doesnt wheel spin as much. Thanks again to Ryan if he reads this for scaring me to death that day

I would love to go and meet up with you all but its gonna be a bit tricky since im in falkland islands for another 3 and a bit months :(
  25. Mate my advice is to just keep it friends and nothing more - if it doesnt work out or if she isnt interested it could make your work situation very awkward especially because you work together. They say never mix business and pleasure and i know from experience this is true. Even if she did like you and you made a go of it you would be in each others faces 24/7 and trust me thats too much. Btw how long do points stay on your liscence for? Ive been told 3 and 4 years? Any chance you can get rid of a few of mine matey pls pls pls :D
