Happy Friday all! I've finally started work on my Zed! It has sat in my garage since 2013 with only a couple of engine warm ups. The last time I turned her over was July 2023 when I discovered that my braided fuel lines had started to perish and were pissing fuel all over the engine bay. Fuel lines have now been replaced along with a new battery, oil, coolant and fuel. Pleased to report she's now starting up and idling fairly well. However, I went to move her out of the garage for the first time today and was unable to engage reverse gear. Clutch pedal feels ok but there's more travel than I remember before it hits resistance. I've found that I can get the car in gear with the engine off, but not when it's running. An RPS Twin turbo MAX Street Clutch was fitted around 800 miles ago (in 2009!). Assuming this points to slave cylinder, but would welcome any suggestions before I start heading off down a blind alley! CheerZ Steve 🙂

Thanks for the feedback Richard. I’ve chased a few times on the phone and by email but the response is always “this is expected in next week”. Had a reply this morning which states they’re expecting the item tomorrow or Monday. Fingers crossed! CheerZ, Steve

Hi all, not been a regular on here for a while, but good to see that so many "old" members are still active! Trying to get my car back on the road after it's sat in the garage for a few years. Braided fuel lines have perished so I ordered replacement stock lines from Torqen at the end of October. Still waiting for them to come in and contact with them seems a bit touch and go. Anyone had any experiences (good or bad) with the company? CheerZ Steve 🙂

My front plate isn't entirely legal (it's too small) so I carry a legal plate in the boot. An easy swap with sticky backed Velcro. Never had either one fall off :)

A good friend of mine asked me how long I'd had my current Zed at the weekend. I was shocked when I checked - I purchased her in March 1997 from Access Nissan in Epsom! Admittedly, she's been off the road for a couple of years for an electrical issue that caused her to fail an MOT. I've been promising myself to get this fixed for some time now, but time always seems to be plotting against me. I've just been to check her over in the garage and she's looking very dusty :( I've got some more time on my hands as work has calmed down recently, so I've promised myself that I'm getting out there to get her fixed and back on the road. Battery is on charge, just need to check fluids and will start her up.. Will keep you all posted! CheerZ Steve :)

Not surprised bud - I'm only 5 mins from you in Sanderstead, but my zed's been tucked away in the garage for the last 3 years. Now I've publicly declared I'm pulling my finger out, I'd better get her back on the road :)
