heard these mentioned a lot, er......what are they??

Petrol tends to be a lighter colour than oil, and petrol can stain, the easiest way to check is to get a clean cloth and wipe it over the area then smell it, petrol smells like... er....petrol, and ....er oil.....er ....doesnt........ er..Ill get me coat! ;)

yeah but would any of that mean that the problem would stop after about a min?

when I start my z first thing in the morning there is a grating type noise from under the bonnet, this increases and decreases when you turn the wheel, which incedentaly seems 'jerky', it runs like this for about a minute then is fine for the rest of the day, any ideas anyone? :confused:

My car has door mounted seatbelts and ive heard that there is a retraction device of some sort when you switch off the ignition, anyone got any info on this, or know where i can find out more A couple of times now ive shut the door and the seatbelt hasnt retracted either by the above method or on the usual springs, and its only a matter of time before i catch my paintwork with the buckle :cry: :confused:

I took out a policy with them about 6 weeks ago, was quite happy with the price etc but did have a similar problem getting the price off them, thy told me the computer was down, then got my proposal through to sign only to find it was someone elses! only took 1 fone call to sort it though, still seems to be the best quote by far, try and make sure you speak to the same person every time, this seems to help, I dealt with a guy called ken (i think)

Asked this before, then got sidetracked, anyone know where the wiper relays are, specificaly for the intermittant wipe cycle? and should the cycle change as your driving? ie sweep once, then maybe sweep three times, then pause between swipes change, its now beginning to realy annoy. :headvswal :headvswal

I know the feeling mate, you'd never get any work done if you stuck to the letter of the law, i jus cant understand why things are getting more and more prohibitive in this country, and why you cant step outside your front door any more without it costing you. why dont dibble just get rid of speed cameras completely and employ muggers to take your money off you? it would save a fortune in red tape!!!

Just heard on the news, the first speed cameras that can register your speed from a kilometer away have been switched on in kent! If the authorities were that bothered about keepng the speeders to the speed imit wouldnt it be cheaper to enforce all car manuacturers to install some kind of radio sender unit that registers you as speeding to your local constabulary?? No it wouldnt, coz then no one would speed, and then no one would ever have to pay a fine, so no one would ever be able to generate dodgy revenue. This country is begining to stink!! In fact ill probably have some MIB knocking on my door next coz ive wrote this thread in the first place!

I have 4 inch jamb saw, thats like an angle grinder but with a 64 teeth saw on it, its used for cutting the bottoms off architraves so you can slide laminate or solid wood flooring underneath for a neat finish, last year it slipped and went through my leg, no pain, not much blood at the time, it was in the fleshy part about 2 inches above the knee, i remember looking down and thinking what the hell is that white thing.....it was my bone!! 34 internal stitches and 32 external. 2 days later it was back to work, (no rest for the wicked and the self employed!) then it started bleeding!! Have to use the saw virtualy every day and i still cringe whenever i switch it on!

Driving round sunny manchester today and the intermittent on my wipers stopped working, normal, and fast work fine, the strange thing is when i switch the wipers on (intermittant) they sweep the window once, when i switch em off they sweep once. also they dont work at all with screen wash, whereas before they used to sweep 3 times, also managed to get them to stop halfway through a sweep at some point but cant remember how i managed it! fuse or loose connection doesnt add up cos surely this would stop em working completely! Although what do i know?? I could write all i know about electrics on the back of a postage stamp and still have room for all i know about de catting and why everyone disconnects thier HICAS......come to think of it id still have room to put absolutley everything i know about what the fook HICAS is anyway :headvswal :headvswal so help with the wipers would be appreciated, but be gentle with me please. :bow: :bow:
