Noisey 2nd and 4th.
Not quite correct....... 1st 2nd 3rd uses the layshaft........ 4th is 1:1 straight thru.... 5th uses 1:1 straight thu with overdrive on the end. Go see nissan dealer for bearings, but they are not cheap. HTH Rob.

Dead pixel on screen warranty
TFT Dead Pixel Allowances -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- LCD Displays are made up of a fixed number of pixels. Each pixel is made from 3 sub-pixels: one red, one blue and one green. Each sub pixel has its own transistor, so the manufacturing process to produce a TFT panel is highly complex. Due to this process, defects can occur at any time during the life of the panel. These defects cannot be fixed or replaced. To regulate the acceptability of defects and to protect the end user, ISO have created a standard for manufacturers to follow. ISO-13406-2 recommends how many pixel faults are acceptable before a panel can be replaced. The table below shows the allowable number of malfunctioning pixels that are acceptable, depending on the native resolution of the LCD and allowing for 2 malfunctioning pixels per million pixels. All TFT Monitors sold by Aria fall into Class II - see the details below. Our panel fits ISO13406-2 Spec in Class II Class II is the common class for consumer equipment. Class I is for Military, Hospital or other Critical applications Class II specifies Allowable defect as follows: Allowable missing pixels per million pixels on display. Class a) Pixels always lit b) Pixels never lit c) Sub-pixel: Always lit; never lit or blinking. I 0 0 0 II 2 2 5 III 5 15 50 IV 50 150 500 (figures shown represent faulty pixels per million) http://www.aria.co.uk/tft-dead-pixel-info.asp HTH mate.... they did well to get it changed ;)

Audio example of engine knocking
hehe I recognise that sound ;) I did the big ends on my S13 and also had to replace them on Z32. As said previously, hear that sound and turn engine off. If you're lucky crank will need a polish up (being nitrided help a lot) and a new set of shells. Dont forget to clean/renew oil pump though. Oh and Dave/Royal........ you dont need to worry about this noise EVER again in your rex lol :D:D

thinking about buying a 350ZX
Hi, I'll try and answer a few of these for you. 1. 4.5L TT is an engine transplant from a car that is not available here, but 2 people are in the process of fitting these lumps, but without turbos (no lag ;) ) 2. Fairlady is the japanese name for 300zx... identical car. 3. As far as i know, when you walked into the showroom in 1990 and handed over your £35,000 you got to choose paint colour, auto/manual and leather or cloth. Everything else was standard equipment. Aircon, electric this, power that etc etc. 4. 350zx? you need to be clear what car your talking about here... i assume the Z32 300zx, not current model Z33 350z. Read #3.. all non turbo are jap, all slicktop are jap, all convertible are jap. 5. 1988-1996. Go for the newest, cleanest one you can find. 6. As for servicing, book says 60,000 miles i think? for the sake of a few hundred quid do it much sooner than that. A broken cambelt is game over. Oil change every 4,000 miles. 7. Suspension bushes, rust(UK), interior tired, tubs smoking... etc etc. just make sure you get a good one. 8. The manuals are out there, just wait and find one. I had to wait a while to find my 1990 UK manual. 9. TT's have an LSD for deffinate, makes for good drifting in the wet ;), not so sure about the N/A.. somebody help me? lol 10. There are 3 body types, and also LWB (4 seater) and SWB (2 seater). Targa=LWB+SWB, Slicktop=LWB+SWB, Convertible=SWB only i believe. HTH Rob.

HELP: Killed my 4th turbo in 400 miles!
Yes, i guess if the return pipe has blocked then hardly any will get back to the sump=very poor flow. But from memory, these are quite large pipes? Is there any way you can take the oil feed off and run the engine to check flow TO the turbo? Then take return pipe off and run again to see what's comming into the sump? compare the 2....... But 4 turbos lasting 400miles sounds very drastic dude. :(

The ring - advice
The only thing i can't stress enough is brakes. Stock discs & pads are rubbish. The FIRST serious stoppie you do they will fry, fact. I did a trackday at Bedford Autodrome on the gran turismo circuit. On the main straight these is an S chicaine, you approach @ ~130mph and brake down to ~75mph to make it round the left hander..... Now with my stock setup the brakes were fooked at 100mph, and I still had to scrub off another 25mph. This was not a progressive thing, it happened on the first lap that i pushed, and was there for the remainder of the day. Note, i've never felt it on the road before or after. But then again you dont do many 130mph heavy stops on the public roads :wack:

Great video. Getting killed doing what they love the most. They were brave guys 30+ years ago. Fire was the biggest killer. Not a nice way to go. RIP all the stars in this video, from the absolute bottom of my heart.
