  1. after driving it i seriously doubt i will be upping the power :) i had in my head it was gonna feel heavy and sluggish in comparison with the mr2, and it really just doesn't feel like that at all!!!! i'm totally speechless with the way the thing shifts!!! cheers mate, i'll be on here a lot no doubt :D i have to source a rear bumper soon anyway :)
  2. oh, just for reference, the insurance is an extra £87, so £287 altogether :D :D
  3. deffo mate!!! i cannot believe the amount of torque the thing has!!! it surely can't only be 279bhp???? my mr2 easily has that power and this thing would seriously blow it away!!! it has twin air filters and some exhaust, dunno if anything else is modified though :tt1:
  4. also, was very surprised by the amount of power, i know the auto are meant to be limited to 279bhp, which is about the same as my mr2, but this thing would easily outrun my mr2!!!
  5. just took out this 300 for a wee test drive, very very impressed, just smoooooth relentless power, no nasty noises or smoke, the thing felt just awesome, and i was quite impressed with the autobox too, sooooo... picking it up tomorrow night once i sort out insurance on it :D
  6. cool, really looking forward to having a go in this now, what are the basic upgrades available for the 300?? like, simple bolt ons?? and what kind of power should i expect?? on my mr2 i have pretty much everything that can be done without forging the engine etc...
  7. ah hang on, you just mean the gearstick yeah??
  8. i did wonder about the rear fog myself, it's just been mot'd sp there must be some kind of fog lamp, unless he only had it on for the mot, ooooh, what's this gear selector thing you're talking about????
  9. cheers mate, i will deffo check that, yeah it does have the parking sensor, i'm hoping it's as good as it looks, only has 105km on the clock (hopefully genuine lol), only other thing i can see wrong is it has a dent on the rear bumper, sure i can pick a bumper up cheap enough though, going to see it tomorrow at 18:30, so i'll post back once i've been out in it
  10. not too fussed about leather, have leather in my current car and i can't stand it, my back always ends up roasting on a long drive :winkiss: that's reassuring about the autobox though, thanks
  11. yeah it's private, straight swap for my own car, :thumbup1: also, i've looked at the buyers guide, very useful indeed :punk:
  12. pretty much what i've been told, think i'm past the stage of raggin it around all the time now anyway, i'm swapping my mr2 turbo for it, it's small, cramped, very harsh on the road, i really think i've outgrown it, so i fancy something big like the 300, hmmmm, going for a drive in thing tomorrow so if i like the autobox i think i'll go for it :D
  13. i'm not really fussed if it's a manual or an auto, just trying to find out what the autobox is like :D
  14. how reliable are they?? a guy on the mr2 owners club had an auto(dunno if it was a turbo) and he says the autoboxes aren't very well built???
  15. hi guys, hopefully picking up my 300zx this week, i'm still undecided about going for it yet though, it's an import twin turbo with an autobox, i've read mixed reviews on the autoboxes, any opinions??? it has 105km on the clock so about 70k miles???
  16. ah, i'd love to but i won't be in any fit state on sunday :( having a BBQ on saturday :), would really like to get to crail at some point, so if there is a meet(i know i don't have a Z yet lol) please let me know, i'm dying to do some 1/4 miles in my current car as i've never had it down the strip :blushing:
  17. thanks mate :D yeah, thought it'd be best checking this site out first, the Mr2 owners club (imoc.co.uk) has given me no end of help and soloutions over the time i've owned the car :)
  18. thanks for the warm welcome, i put a reply on that post, but then after looking at his for sale advert i doubt he'd do a straight swap, which is what i'm after, my car is probably worth a bit less than his :(
  19. cheers for that guys, i might very well give him a message :)
  20. Thanks for the welcomes guys, yeah I reckon this is probably the best place to pick one up, I'll keep my eyes open, have to sell the mr2 first unfortunately :*)
  21. cheers matey, will be on here all the time if i find one no doubt, i'm usually on the mr2 owners club a lot, but i'd be selling the 2 to fund a 300 :D
  22. hey folks, just saying hello and checking out the forum, i don't own a 300zx at the moment, i currently drive a mr2 turbo, getting a bit bored(or maybe just getting old) of it now and fancy something a bit bigger and a bit more refined, i've always liked the 300zx, i had a 200sx which was good to drive but having been in a couple of 300's i think this is the route i'm gonna go down, what kind of price should i expect to pay for a manual TT in half decent condition?? the prices i've seen seem to really vary, and not always dependant on condition!! anyway, hello and nice to meet you all :D
