I rememeber doing the same earlier in my career. I'd just fixed a monitor PSU & so I decided to touch a heat sink to see if it was getting hot. It was floating at 300v & I had my other hand on the Chasis, Doh!

Nice one mate, you're making good progress! From what I remember after doing a Renault engine, the seals were fairly tight on the valve stem. There should be a little spring around the top of the seal, or at least there was on the Renault engine. Have you got any pics of the seal? Shaun

Fair play to ya mate. I hope it does turn out to be the stem oil seals. You should know soon enough when you take the cams off & have a look at them. If they've all slid off the valve guides or look melted then you know you were right! Good luck & if you need some help then let me know. Shaun

Howdo & welcome. Perhaps you should get rid of the 1st car & keep the S13 and buy a 300ZX :hyper: Although I love the 300, I do miss the 200sx. It was a cracking motor & was so easy to tune.

Sorry to hear you're down mate, things'll get better. As far as getting other people to do jobs for you, I rarely feel happy with the work that's been done. If you want a job doing properly then you have to do it yourself where you can. I'd never trust my Zed with anyone around here. Even when I've had work done on the house the work has ranged from shoddy to down right cr@p!
