  1. it took just under 4 with filter change which bought it a little under full on dip stick with cold oil
  2. i had 15 40 in it as my auto data cd recomended it! any way i have just done an oil change on it, yes oil change at 10 pm!!!! and it seems a lot better, much smoother i will have to see if its ok from cold in morning if not i will strip and clean the sensors! is it just a case of taking them out and use bit of brake/carb cleaner on them with wire or maybe tooth bus be better?
  3. right oh here goes it is a twin turbo manual 1992 only when its cold ie over night no smoke clears when. but when its warm the idle is really low no modificarltions other than back box's! im going towards oil being to thick and as it warms up it becomes thinner and sorts its self out so to speak! my oil pressure gauge is reading 100 when cold and 60 when driving and 30 on idle which seems high to me??? would wrong oil cause my problems? thanks guys much appriacte your help

  5. right i had a problem yesterday when my zed was started from cold over night where it would not run boost or drive at all really. anyway i found a boost leek on the boost gauge which i sorted and the zed seemed to be going fine and was also fine when left for 6 hours or so which like a fool i thought i fixed my zed, however i started my zed this morning and i had same problem as day before! so back to square one! anybody know what controls the cold start idle? or what could be the problem. its a tt z32 with i belive a serious 2 ptu upgrade thanks dave

  7. are the b plugs worth the extra hassle of getting or will the c plugs do the job in a standard tt?
  8. ok i will have a good check over for leeks but wouldn't a leek that large be really obvious? and if i had a leek wouldn't the fault always be there? it seems to go when the is warm? and im afraid zed world is to far for me as im in south wales, dont suppose you know anybody in my kneck of the woods you could recommend? thanks for help guys

Well this morning i drove my 300 zx and it was messing about loads! no boost, wouldn't idle, wouldn't rev, wouldn't drive slow or fast!! i got it to my garage and couldn't see anything wrong however i had a slight leek from the boost gauge pipes and one had collapsed so i try to change the pipe however as soon as i pulled the pipe of the valve the valve snapped (Drivers side wing under windscreen) i have now blanked this pipe off and the car seems to be running ok would this small valve cause all these problems? or is it where it was cold and there is something else i need to check? also what oil should be in the car? it has 15 40 as that is what autodata recommended? im wondering if the oil being to thick would cause me problems in the mornings? also it was raining over night but the air filter felt dry? and if anyone has a boost gauge valve for sale im after one!!! thanks dave
  10. :devil2: Nope i only gave £1400 for the beast! plus £60 fine! hahaha And i cant afford anymore points i actullay drive for a living so not wise for me to loose my licence, think i will have to hire myself a spotter to sit next to me so he can find all the polise and cameras for or i could just slow down but where is the fun in that??? :devil:

  12. Just out of interest what would you lot of paid for my zed? Its twin turbo manual done 123k killometers i MOTED it last week and only needed a number plate light, small patch of welding and caliper was binding all been done now has new ticket. just wondering if i done well or not? ill let you know what i gave for it after i get your thoughts thanks

  14. ok whats the benifit of taking out these vacum pipes/valves? is it just purly less to go wrong? is there any neagative effects to worry about? if not i think i may tackle these in the morning
  15. very good i wondered why they been filled in!!!! whats the differance between jap and uk spec bumper? and im guessing its probably had knock at some time in its life less there is a reason you would put a jap spec bumper on!!! im new to these zeds so im on a learning curve!
  16. no, no jap writting and the seat belts are in the A pilar. and yeah i have not done any driving in the wet! but ill take it easy used to have an m3 which lept me on my toes in the wet!
  17. umm no not me in Filey as im in south wales and was in swansea maybe on the side of M4 chatting to a copper!!! yeah im a little confused i belive it to be a uk car but the speedo is mph but the millage is in kph???? and i bought the car from wakefeild and i belive it was in scotland before me so if you sent a gear knob up that way maybe! keen eyes on the under tray i didnt know they where meant to have one! i even serviced it last week lol

  20. umm just the valves as the hoses seemed fine they where still nice a soft been going through history and they have been changed a fair few times

Hi i have had my zed for a week now and when i bought it i had a fair bit of smoke on idle however i was given PCV's with the car which i changed and gave me a reduction in smoke on idle, i changed these roughly 250 miles ago but i still have some smoke on idle (from O/S exhaust) BUT when i leave the air con on auto there is no smoke? there is also no smoke on slow driving nor on fast driving????? also the idle is a bit all over the place some times its at 1100 then 1500 them some times 2000 and with air con off it varies from 900 to 1200 rpm its really confusing me???? any help be good?? only smokes when idle is at 900 rpm! and only from the drivers side exhaust.
  23. ok thanks guys ill try my luck and request prof of speed as im pretty sure he wont have any as he was following me for less than a mile and i slowed down pretty quick once i spotted the bike!!! i will keep you updated as its always good to know ways of getting out of tickets if i can!!!
  24. na no radar gun i had a nice little chat on the side of the motor way with the copper who was actually training a fellow police bike rider so im guessing he wouldn't have his camera on. Im thinking of requesting prof of speed in a week or so and see what they come back with!
