  6. not much you can do really other than turn the welder down! older cars are hard work to weld i used the have a 1990 transit recovery truck witch had more plates in it than origanal metal still passed mot mind!
  7. that would be my zed and that would be my garage think my bro said he see a zed go past the other day
  8. yeah we do spend a lot of time undoing botched jobs and trying are best to put it back right! well i have done full service on mine, pcv valves, front pads, free'd up a sticky caliper and i have just done the cambelt and water pump plus all 3 idle's with no major problems plus we do welding and mots if your interested
  9. Just out of interest where do you lot go for repairs like cambelts, servicing etc? reason i ask is because me and brother have a small garage in the rhondda and we have recently done a fair bit of work on my car with no problems and if there was enough interest maybe we could sort some sort of club discount out for fellow zeders? let me know your thoughts as i know zed world are the boys but there not exactly 5 mins from us unfortantlly!
  10. i may be up for coming if my zed stops spending all my money for me!
  11. have you tryed seaching with a lit match??? haha and am i write in thinking there is a fuel pump under the car below the rear seats? can you get the car in the air and have a smell underneath the car as this is where your fuel lines run
  12. well i see on flea bay that they do a set of 6 injector connectors for £36 plus postage from usa! anybody bought these? if so how much was the postage? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk:80/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=360356979484&category=46098&_trksid=p5197.c0.m619&autoredirect=off im thinking for £40 i should change them along with my recently bought coil plugs that way i know my wiring is good. is there an easy way to test the ibjector? im not very good with ohm meters! lol
  13. in that case turbos a tenner! put my name down at that price lolol
  14. oh right i see what you mean! ill give it a go monday as im hopping my brothers gf has picked some bits up from big jim for me to fit!
  15. only thing i have done is un plug the the coils and only plug 6 didnt effect the miss fire which is why im guessing something wrong with cylinder 6 which of cause is the most awarked one to get to plus i dont have a spare coil to try! also i dont always have a mis fire as it comes and gos as it feels so im hopping that points towards electrical and not rings or head gasket? it has also had a serious 2 ptu fitted or so i was told by previous owner
  16. i have a miss fire which i have narrowed down to cylinder 6 i changed coil the other day to cylinder 1 but fault stayed at cylinder 6 so im guessing something on cylinder 6 now the no 6 coil pack plug is pretty crap to be honest. but is just a case of changing the connecter and problem solved or will it be something else i need to look for?
  17. well it seems i was a very lucky boy indeed as i found that my tensioner arm had seized and this was causing my cambelt slap, so been driving about without a tensioned cambelt!!! just got to put the rad back in today and we should be all good hopefully
  18. ahh thank you that is a help full link i will be using that link in the morning! it looks pretty straight forward once everything is out the way
  19. yeah im pretty good with a spanner or 2 and my brothers a mechanic but niether one of us have done a zed but he has done a gto and i have ordered a belt kit with 2 idlers and a tensoner plus ill change the fan balt and power steering belt and thermosat while its all apart i think ill order a seal as well en as i didnt know about them. other than needing about 7 pairs of hands to put the belt on is there any silly bolts etc i.need to worry about?
  20. na defo cambelt as i took off 1 side of the cover and started it and you could see the belt moving up and down! i was planing on changing it at end of month anyway but looks like my plans have changed! i did have a day of tomorrow but looks like be doing belt and water pump. any recommendations on doing these belts tgey look pretty straight forward as i have rad out and the fan off already
  21. well i was having a look at my intector connections today as i have a mjsfire and i noticed there was a rattle coming from the front of the engine so i thought i best check the belt and good job i did as the camblet was flopping around more than a fat bird on a treadmil!!!!!
  22. worth taking your cambelt cover off and cheaking you dont have cambelt slap
