  1. have a good one :thumbup1:
  2. Can't you can complain to the council and threaten to bill them for repairs to your car from damage caused by too high speed humps ?
  3. Jeffs on the money IMO, they should replace with the correct OEM part or take them to the insurance ombudsman if they refuse. They want it all their own way and IMO this case would be a clear cut bad practice on their part. BTW Are all imports bronze tint ? I thought mine looked just smoked ?
  4. Reckon on between 15 and 25 mpg depending on how it's driven ;)
  5. By J spec I mean Jap, not reffering to the width lol. I am only repeating what I learnt from asking around, so if I have dropped a clanger I am sure someone will correct me ;) BTW my rears are 255/40/17 which is 0.7% bigger than Jap stock wheels/tires, and for the record my speedos KMH reading exactly translates to my sat nav's MPH, IE 100Kmh on the speedo shows 62-63 mph on the satnav.
  6. According to the tyre calculator, its actually 1.96% bigger than stock J spec wheels/tyres. But it seems its generally regarded that as long as your within 2.5% then its fine.
  7. The "J" is basically the width of your wheels in inches. For a 265 tyre you really need a minimum of 9J.
  8. Is that blue one yours Mr Bunny ? 'Tis a nice looking spolier :)
  9. The profile changes because its a percentage of the width... wider tyres will mean the same profile is taller. What J are your rear wheels as thats going to decide the tyre width limit ?
  10. I meant 25-30 ... lol no edit button !
  11. Hmm, wasn't that amount when I was looking, maybe 25-50 on a good week ! I was wondering about that too, and how many of each variant, but seems info isn't free :p
  12. What about the GooGone stuff, isn't that supposed to be quite good ?
  13. I have been told using a converter alters the power steering as the ecu thinks its going slower than it actually is, but not sure by how much. Is the fueling map decided in part by speed too, as then a converter may also change that ?
  14. I can only repeat what I have read while deciding on oil for my N/A, but I did see mention that its not a good idea to use 5w in TT's ....
  15. Spoilerless is the plan, all being well. But I'm derailing your thread, I look forward to the pics when your replacement is back from the paintshop :)
  16. Mines not that type. Its a high wing and by all apearances has been on since near new in Japan, so still could be some nasty stuff undernaeth and some selant type stuff to clean up .... I hope its the same colour underneath lol.
  17. Nice work, its on my to do list too, I only hope mine cleans up as well as that :)
  18. Are there any pics of those blacked out ones on the car ZXTT or JamieTT ? Not wanting to derail the thread but would like to see them in situ so to speak :)
  19. Oh, thats why I have bulbs in mine, not sure if they work though :p
  20. Those wheels look familiar ;) After collecting my 2 boys from school, my 7yr old's friend (almost missed the 's off then, that woulda sounded iffy ) saw mine and said "wow do you drive that ?" my bloody 5 yr old replied "only to someone to fix it" I wasn't happy as I was talking to his friends mum, "its been serviced, not fixed you little sh...."
  21. Take out the speaker and Phono wires, double check the power, remote and earth leads are ok and turn on your stereo see if it stays in protect. If its fine, add phono's and re-check, and then speaker(s) (one a time if more than one).
  22. Or flash chrome and polished rims if your want a "special" finish :p
  23. I assumed subbed, as it wont let me read the guide :) "Bartflaster, you do not have permission to access this page."
  24. I dont know why you are suprised, I was expecting it to be stupid low 'cos I thought that was why Jeff posted it. But TBH If you want a UK manual TT, you would be looking at that sort of figure to replace it without something that needs some work. Many many moons ago I wrote off a GPz900R, the first offer from them was about £200 less than I paid, I argued it would cost me more to get one in the same condition, they asked for proof so I posted them a few ads in the papers (no internet like now :p) and I got more than I expected. You can see why it would get written off though, not sure of the percentage they go to for total loss, but it doesn't take many hours of skilled labour to start snowballing, and then the insurance companies obviously cost parts using brand new ....
