I think it is more the CPS (Crown Prosecution Service) than the police, and they are a law unto themselves!! I hope your solicitor has some luck in claiming your £250.00 back, they should be paying you money for your time taken to sort the whole mess out. Have to agree with the garage person/persons being responsible though, they were after all breaking the law in your vehicle, so think there may be something you can do if they provide you with the details of the person driving. Records do have to be kept, therefore there is no reason that they can refuse, but that's only if you can find the owners of said garage. The laws of this land are pathetic, and need a serious revamp, people being done for protecting their property and/or families, dogs being put to sleep for biting criminals and then the owner of the dog being sued because the dog bit them on or in the dog owners property, the law is an ass.
