  1. Thought it was a trampoline!..Love those old pickups :thumbup1:
  2. That must have been some Tail wind!! Welcome Dave, great bunch on here for both Banter and Knowledge :thumbup1: Steve
  3. Fitted LED Reverse and fogs into the rear panel, either side of the 300zx legend, looks smart and its a tidy installation (no hanging lights) mines also a Jap import.
  4. Can't find a roof kit? Cross winds a nightmare!, probably why i need more POWER!!!
  5. Ah! of course!.. the BMW options List...endless
  6. I don't know any race category apart from the old Modsports that would allow a Concorde rear spoiler like that!
  7. glad to here it's sorted...there is an upgrade to a different connector on the injectors that gives a more reliable contact, problem suffered on models up to 92', i believe, i'm sure its covered on the forum.
  8. I'm trying to establish what upgrades (if any) had been done on the replacement TT engine i need to fit. Garage said they had a pair of T4 turbos that were fitted but going to keep for another project, they believed the engine was producing aro,und the 400hp mark but I will take that with a pinch of salt at the moment. I will fit the standard T25's? from the faulty motor, unless I can find something better, but can any one throw some light on why the T4's would have been chosen and what else may have been changed to work with them (ECU upgrade perhaps) as most discussions online talk of the T28's being the favoured option. Going on Garrets site makes no sense to me as there is no obvious direct comparison or part reference, so hoping there is first hand experience on the forum that can help. If anyone also knows of a decent turbo upgrade going, can you let me know. Cheers

    Missed again, lol
  10. Correct, Engine from Auto package being used as replacement for current manual installation. Thanks for the input and advice all.
  11. Unless it's the need to release the money, Keep your 300zx, your already in it for a few quid!!, you may find the answer to the car is just around the corner, better than someone else benefitting from your graft, besides it's what keeps us sane!!!
  12. Phew! Thanks Started to read about whole list of parts required. I was going to buy a set of Auto Turbos because of the faster spooling (better acceleration?) but as needs must I will use the Manual ones, whilst repairs upgrades are done.
  13. As an interim measure , before getting the current TT engine repaired and upgraded I want to fit another TT ,which is currently configured for an Auto box (will be selling this in due course) The car is Manual. I understood the only change is the spigot/ Collar in the main thrust plate (or something like that!) and as this engine is not fitted supplied with Turbo's I shall use the exsiting manual ones. I can't find a definitive checklist for the changeover, but have read that flywheel needs to be fitted. Would appreciate some guidance on this please. Cheers
  14. Yeah! and filled his nappy at the same time, poor chap...still got to catch them early, he'll return the favour when your in your dodering years!r
  15. Sorry to see the damage Jeff, TV has been showing some incredible storm images, seems you got the thick end of it...might want a word with your Landlord about the buildings integrity? Now more important things, that's a very nice E39..yours? :thumbup1:

  17. How did you get on?
  18. Think I hijacked my own thread!!! Wheel before refurbishment
  19. Cheers Stu, the wheels are from wheelmania, they were refurbished last year to remove all the corrosion due to the previous owner living by the sea in Edinburgh, they came out very slightly smoked, which I think really worked. The car has a lot of subtle detail such as all LED lights (brake, rear main, indis and fogs) as well as the corvette style triple rear lights. Got a major engine problem, which is going to be sorted shortly, but want to detail engine in chrome, black and carbon, rather than the Samco accessories...all in good time. apologies all for the randon size images, trying to use Photobucket and with my laptop it's sloooow! to change things! Wheels are Mania Vortex with 8.5 x 19 Front 9.5 x 19 Rears. A few shots below.
  20. Thought, perhaps the closer to the Turbo the better spooling you would maintain. On an asthetic note, they make a good tehcnical feature as well as a talking point when on show, so think I will relocate them to the bay when engine rebuilt. Cheers
  21. J299 has the Bailiey blow off valves fitted down by the intercoolers, where as I notice a lot of valves on other cars are fitted close to the turbo Plenum outlet areas. Is there a performance advantage to either location?
  22. Good Luck for the weekend!,If it wasn't for Radio 1 hackney weekend I would come along to support. My old man used to take me to Gurston as nipper (many moons ago) Roy Lane in a 5.0l single seater always got you focused! Great location and climb
  23. Thanks for the welcome. hope to add some constructive banter and in due course get to know the members. I have spoken to Jeff prevously when purchasing the 300, I wanted to get it up to him to have a once over, but never got the time. The engine issue is frustrating as it had a lot of documented work on the engine with the previous owner, it pulled like a train, starts even now on the key and idles without isssue. Looking online as far as I can it is starting to point to a pistion bearing on #1 or 3, there is a heavy knock and rattle and as I have had some issues with Oil Pressure along with an oil leak, (which might be down to the visocity of oil 5w/40 finding it's way out somewhere) it doesn't look good! Will contact Jeff and perhaps Jimmer to see about an engine rebuild, upgrade, although not the start to zx ownership I was hoping for. Cheers Steve
  24. Thanks for the Welcome Steve, do you upload pics from the settings profile or just add them from the tabs as shown on the quick replys? Cheers
  25. Cheers, found the avatar info in settings as you were posting, bit embarrased with the registration to post delay (18 months:huh:) but hopefully will make up with constructive posts, finding the site full of information and good...not so good conversation, can't work out why I hadn't looked in more detail before.
