  1. not such a fan that clarkson refered to it as a 1980's zx.. i know it was for effect, but its the one tested there was almost certainly a 90s model. Also, nice to see a heavier LWB is still faster than a 350z :)
  2. ha, i also like the feature where a 300zx schools every other zed car in a drag race, and then again it beats a 350z in their old vs new section. brilliant stuff, reminded me why im getting one!
  3. wow, 13.3 mpg, thats impressive! what kinda driving was that, and how heavy was your right foot? and if you say a steady motorway cruise i might have to reconsider buying a zed...
  4. hey Rob, thanks for letting taking me out in you zed the other weekend, much appreciated! Theres a cheap japspeed exhaust similar to that one selling new on z centre only £25 more than the ebay one? http://www.zcentre.co.uk/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.pbv.tpl&product_id=51&category_id=55&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=7
  5. nice, muchos respect! some great pictures there - action pics look way better than static. what techniques were you using to start the drift? is the stock handbrake good enough to get the back out? Gonna have to give this a go when i get a zed - its the most awesomist way of killing rear tyres i can think of!
  6. check the tires... im yet to get a zed, but the first upgrade i've got planned is some decent rubber, especially on the back!
  7. standard size i've always seen quoted was 225/50/16 on the front, and 245/45/16 on the back if that helps. how wide are your rims?
  8. I wouldnt worry about it, fussy is the way to go! im looking for a dark grey, 92 to 94 year, under 75k, leather seats, sports exhaust, 17 or 18" wheels, non standard front bumper.... obviously i may be waiting a while lol
  9. yeah, i realise now that all the swb ones will be imports, which probably isnt so good for my insurance. Think i'll probably get a nice LWB when i see one - as you say, UK registered and plenty about - im just waiting for the perfect one. I want the targa top tho - i love getting the roof off to hear the exhaust note! Cov Rob - been a change of plan, im going to the renault world series on sunday, any chance of coming over sat? Sorry to keep changing a date! Anytime on sat is fine for me! Whas your number?
  10. cool - any chance i could pop over mid afternoon sometime?
  11. ah, cant come over until at least 6 today - work an all... whatcha up to on sunday?
  12. For Cov Rob - any chance of coming over either tomoro (monday) or tuesday evenin for a butchers? i wouldnt stay over long, and more than happy to stump up some cash for petrol if you fancied a drive? havent subscribed yet, any chance you could PM me?
  13. am i right in thinking all the UK cars were LWB? looking to buy one, but dont really fancy having rear seats as they're too small to be used! does this mean i'll be looking at imports only?
  14. ha, im amazed i'll be able to afford insurance on a zed, im only 23... admiral have quoted me £600 fully comp, its only £100 more than my mazda! plus ive got access to my gfs sensible 206, so it should keep petrol costs down! What mpg do you get day to day from a turbo?
  15. scratch that... i'll just get in touch some other way lol
  16. thanks for the welcomes all! i'm gonna look at a car tomorrow over in dudley - £4k for a lwb turbo manual with 41k on the clock. hopefully gonna try and blag a test drive, although i'm not actually gonna buy a car till october at the earliest. Cov Rob - thanks for the offer - might pop over for a chat one evening next week if thats alright? you have PM!
  17. thanks for the offer Chris! I'll see if i can make it up to JAE at Kettering, wouldnt be too far for me. I've seen another post on here with the details, so i'll go search out info on there! If i do make it, i'll be the one trying to sit in everyones cars...
  18. Hi All! Im a future newbie to Z cars! Having checked insurance and prices, i recently realised a Z was in my price range, and since then Ive very quickly decided my MX5 is a bit slow! However, since ive only ever seen one on the roads, ive no idea what to look out for! Is there anyone around Leamington or Coventry who wouldnt mind sparing an hour of their time sometime this weekend? I know it'd be really helpful to talk to an enthusiast before looking at cars myself! If anyone can spare a bit of time, id be most grateful! I'm looking at getting a SWB, turbo manual if anyone has anything similar? Thanks in Advance and looking forward to joining the community soon! Brillo
