Hes made them all from Stainless steel and just needs to put the castelated bit on the top of em now. What with the DBA discs/Porterfield pads (ta smithy) and braided hose lines/5.1 fluid this will totally eliminate brake fade on track days....(gota fit the venting as well yet) I asked myself this question though... Why the hell did they make the pistons from alloy :xxx: The material is a conductor..heat straight to the fluid to boil it :headvswal I can only assume it was to take the heat away from the disc and pad and to save weight...but the alloy caliper makes up for this anyway. also...theres steel bolts in the pad aligners..these corode quicker than you can say :eek: A cost factor i think there. I had painted my calipers with gold paint but they ended up coming out like a toffee colour and looked a bit poop considering the amount of money ive spent on them as mentioned to me by several people and felt ashamed :( ...... So their gonna be stripped down to the alloy again and then have them resprayed properly in a decent Gold...along with new shiny bolts. So basically apart from the moulded alloy caliper everything will be new on them...better than new really coz their modded :duffer: Got my C1 sideskirts done as well so im feelin pretty chuffed at the mo... Thats saturday planned then
