  1. So what is he asking for it then??? Do tell!
  2. Your gun will need to match your compressor basically. Pro guns need a minimum of 14cfi from the compressor and ideally a 100litre tank. Smaller guns (needle size I mean not pot size) are available to work of 2hp compressors producing 7cfi. Price == capacity. Bigger compressor = bigger price!! Small gravity fed guns are useful for blow in and touch up panels but dont normally throw enough paint on to do full re sprays successfully. Apollo in Birmingham do HVLP kits which I have used for a number of years with success. Also be aware that the "painting window " as far as weather is concerned for us amateurs without heated booths has now closed for the winter. "Truck paint" or "commercial enamel" as it is known needs good heat to dry and is slow drying at the best of times. Not an ideal paint to use for a first time sprayer. HTH
  3. Attending in a Zed is not compulsory as you well know, its all about the members
  4. OK guys n gals ... no tricks! no favours needed!...... here ya go....
  5. So how many members do we have living in or around the Birmingham/NEC area, say within a 45min or so drive of the NEC???? Like Telford, Stafford,Cannock,Tamworth, Walsall,Nuneaton,Coventry,Leamington,Warwick, Stratford,Solihull,Redditch,BromsgroveKidderminster,Stourbridge,West Brom,Dudley,Wolverhampton etc etc???? What? 10??? 20?? more???
  6. We normally gather around 12. Its quite informal so no set time. As we regularly meet on Sundays at lunchtime we have found in the past that it pays to get there sharpish so we can grab tables for lunch. Lunch is optional tho if you just want to have a drink and a natter then thats OK. The last time we visited this place the duty manageress got a little hot n bothered about having cars in the car park  and too many people in her pub. Later however we had an official apology from Toby Inns over the incident as one of our club members lodged a complaint to head office. Sooooo! hopefully all will be fine this time ;)
  7. Hopefully I can get there too. But I may go to the Restoration show at Stonleigh first. 1. Z Evo Guy50 2. Bantambunny 3. Wingnut 4. Reece 5. MrGarrett 6. MoreBHP 7. Dean300zx [maybe] 8. 8. Well after 2 years at 6th form college to get her A levels, 4 years at Uni to get her Masters degree and the last year with a local company undergoing pre-registration training its finally all over for my eldest daughter Leanne. Today she received notification of her pass mark in the Royal Pharmaceutical Sociey of Great Britain registration exam!! So now there are TWO pharmacists at the Slick Pete house. :nana2: :nana2: Im chuffed to bits for her and proud as any Dad could be. It was never that hard when I qualified Im sure :D
  9. Well I have... you are right according to the book. I was talking about it to Mr F a bit back but didnt remember all that was said. I do know however that you need to match the speed sensor with the original car clocks or it will read wrong.
  10. IIRC fifth gear ratio is different to match with the different diff ratios?? BTW have you put the TT speedsensor in the NA box??
  11. Yes indeed!!! The Z club applied late to get a pitch hence they got last choice. 300ZX. co.ok never had a stand of their own so no wonder nobody could find it. Like you Mike I was disappointed to see so few 300s. It has just re energised my plans to build a new slicktop to play in. In my absense on the track this weekend Dave Chung has just beaten my personal best NA time of 14.575 by one hundredth of a sec on Sat , posting a 14.574!!!! that alone is sufficient to persuade me to return in 2008 with a better and faster car. Bring it on!! Meanwhile congratulations are due to the "little scouser!" :D
  12. Im just going Sunday. :hyper: Im at work tomorrow
  13. Can we keep this thread on topic please. Its a meet thread for a list of names attending.
  14. Yep! I second that. An excellent start to regular monthly Midlands meets that will take us thru til 2008. :duffer: Plans are all in hand for next month after todays informal discussion. Dave will post up the details soon.
  15. Stories???? What we need is facts. Ie .... how many people have bougt a clutch from Grip-force clutches and found it to be no good. according to their Ebay info they have sold 26000 items with 100% feedback.. Thats a lot of happy punters some of whom seem to be in Europe. Huge volume purchasing usually means big discounts. Many Ebay sellers work from very cheap nondescript premises. And they are willing to work on very small % mark-ups.The US has a huge "cheap labour" market to tap in to for pickers and packers in warehouses. UK companies even as large as Nissan UK simply cannot compete
  16. Indeed we will-especially if he is buying the drinks
  17. You a best to look for a "flat bed- beaver tail " type. Im just hiring one today to go n collect a motor. If you go for a "Brian James" type with channels formed in metal then be aware that Zeds with wide rims do not always fit on then. Measure your overall track width and check any trailer bed before purchase.
  18. Well I have just arrived beck from sunny Spain so I will be there too. :duffer: 1. z evo guy50 2. Daves_Zed 3. Bantambunny + Jon 4. Emero 5. DCarey 6. Morebhp 7. SkylineDave 8. Edk83 + Family (possibly) 9. Shel ZX 10. Artztogo 11. The Dark Warrior (+ missus possibly) 12. Slick Pete.
  19. Well as Nick said we discussed this yesterday(Sat 1st Sep) Im off to Spain for a couple of weeks and while Im away there is the Zedfest meet at Calverton Scout camp.(Please be nice to the Scouts!!!) :p So how about SUNDAY 30th September for the first of our REGULAR Midlands meets to take us through to 2008?? The weather has played havoc with the summer shows so lets get back to a regular monthly schedule here in the Midlands. WHERE????? Well up to you guys to think of somewhere round the usual Nottingham, Derby, Leicester B;ham area while Im catching some sun on the Costa!! :nana2:
  20. Just ring Nissan Main Dealer and ask for a price About £190 +vat IIRC
  21. Just look for a proper Independent Motor spares shop. Many of them make up pipes while you wait. My local ones both do anyway. Like Darren/Manta V8 I have my own flairing kit. I also have copper pipe and nuts. But same thing... TOOOOO far away. Soz. Tis a five minute job. Pipe is about £12 for 25metres and end nuts are cheap as chips
  22. Congratulations to you both.
