ive been phoneing around some tinting companies today and just about all of them said whatever they put on will be illegal the lightest shade they do lets 54.4% light through and the legal requirement is 70% even coloured shades such as red or blue are illegal, as i was thinking of haveing red tints all around, but if this is illegal aswell it just seems a waste of money. i see my tints as a major attribution to how my car looks and am absoluteley gutted i may be spoiling the look of it. im seriously considering leaving the tints as they and buying some separate clear glass and just useing the tints for shows and meets in summer when the roof is usually off and the usually down windows down.

as most of you know i got pulled yesterday cos of my window tints. but i cant make my mind up what to do about them i can either have a lighter tint fitted, just have clear windows, buy some standard windows and swop them with my "illegal" windows for shows and meets, or just leave them as they are as i wasnt given any ticket to get signed by an official inspector i was just fined given the results and TOLD to get them sorted in ten days or i COULD face a prohibition if i get caught again. i cant make my mind up what to do what do y'all reckon

their was an asian guy on a local radio station who said he was in london at the time of the bombings last summer infact he reckond he was on the earlier tube to the one that got hit. a couple of days later he had a bit of beard growth and he says people started looking at him funny :rolleyes: , anyway he decides to grow a full on beard and decides to do an experiment armed with an empty rucksack he goes out through london, on tubes, buses and on foot he couldnt believe how diferent people where looking at him andtreating him since the bombings. WHAT!! is he fookin mental course people are ****in treating him diferent how can you not i hate the thought of me sounding racist but at the end of the day im only human and when im out i must admit i do look them and half think "i wonder whats in that bag" and when you get muslims shouting stuff like "DOWN WITH THE UK" and saying "death will come to those who dont believe in islam"(or whatever) how can you not `look at them in a funny way`

i have to say, and we are probably at risk of been slated but i completeley agree with you the demos by the muslims outside the bbc on thursday night the where chanting "down with the bbc down with the uk" down with the uk? they fookin live here! :mad:

its funny you should say that, cos i was thinking that last night, i just couldnt remember how the cop did it, maybe i will take to the station for it checking although my tints definatley look darker from the outside than the cops example of a window letting 70% light through cos it just looked like my houses windows

cheers for the support guys, seems 99% of you are on my side. the thing that bugs me is i dont usually get it out while the back end of next month/early april and then its usually windows down roof off i s'pose im more pissed off with myself for getting it out too early

i like them, look better in a big size though

cheers mate, if id been pulled in a different city or even a different area of sheffield i think id leave the tints as they are . but the fact i got pulled literaly just down the road i think id better get them sorted. or does the fact ive not been told to get them checked give me another chance so to speak

Well like i said, theyve told me to get rid of the tints in 10 days but ive only been given the test results and fined £30 ive NOT been told to get them checked by VOSA or anyone else but have been told that if i did get pulled again i COULD get a prohibition notice put on the car.

personally i used to love that pearl white zeds used to come in if thats your white id keep that

i dont watch tele much to be honest, but i use to watch cold feet, the lakes(first series) and friends with the wife. although life on mars seems pretty good when i was a kid though it used to be, A-team knight rider battlestar galactica and when my dad was out of work we always watched stuff like Zorro(black and white series) lone ranger (black and white series) old batman series... those were the days fookin hell im only 29

wots this getting the ticket signed by an inspectorate business :confused: :confused: i havent been given anything other than test results and fine ticket, they just said if i get pulled again and i havnt removed them i could face a prohibition order on the car

ive had my car 3years and never been pulled, ive been next to cops in traffic jams and and at lights and they dont bat an eyelid just look at the car and drive off. but this time :rolleyes: they said they've had these light meters for years but now theyve been told to use them due to accidents involving tints. which is where im coming from when i say use a bit of common. they could sit in the car and see if they can see through the window and if they cant either im superman or they "should've gone to specsavers"

its a shame "THE LAW" doesnt use common sense, would i have been 'done' if i had dark sunglasses on?
