no idea as its the oil that dodgy mc garage put in there, planning on doing oil and filter change soon, should only be 1400 miles on that oil and filter but i just wanna know for sure... nothing else they did was any good so why assume :D and it is a touch over sits at the top of the little lead weight part of the dipstickso a little overfull. its the screech noise that worries me most tbh, but ive got half a mind this is due to a boost leak. is there any chance my valves are running dry ? :/

some guys in derby dropped a new engine and turbos in apprantly good condition( from japan with less than 40k on it) sounded pretty genuine but when i arrived to pick it up the trouble started i wont bore you with the details as its a longgggg story. but there were split boost pipes, a loose manifold and missing jublies galore total bodge even the rad was held in place with zip ties. im planning to come pay you a visit soon jeff just putting it off, as its a long ol jounery for me, and my confidence with the car is in tatters tbh due to the overheat that created the new engine episode. from what i could see it was leaking from the rocker closest to the wing. and dribbling down the side of the engine.

been poking about under there today still oilly as hell from the 8.5 litres of gearbox oil that got under there. oil seems to becoming from the rocker cover there is oil round the front of teh turbo but not much.

had loads of issues with this car with bad workmanship etc when i got my car back i had boost leaks galore, sorted most out now but need to doa proper boost leak test and find out where the remainng ones are theres gotta be more lol. anyways the car since this has developed an odd problem on full boost it chucks out smoke, and makes a hmm/ screech noise. cant decide wether it sounds like air or metal. saving up atm to pop the car upto zed world for a proper health check. its an auto. it has been suggested that my rockers become pressurized under boost and spray out a little oil. it doesnt really seem to come from the exhaust. and after a spirted long drive i get smoke at idle not much and it quickly stops. as a foot note i got a load of oil on the underside of the car a few weeks back could this be still burning off the underside and rear of the engine. i had a turbo problem before my engine swap could oil still be working through the system it was only 1400 miles ago, my drivers side intercooler pipe is a little black inside while the passenger side is clean as a whistle. any ideas please let me know :D (paranoid im gonna need another engine and turbos after those cowboys ****ed with it):thumbdown:

ahh that was i was worried about, im guessing its probally the regass needed and couldnt be assed as you say knowing the other bodges i found on this car so far

on recent inspection, i noticed the relay for my aircon is missing. its just not there the prevoius owner must of eaten it or summin. if i do turn my air con on it always blows hot air no matter what temp its set on. ive had a good look about the forum but couldnt find anything that directly answered the question, apprantly some people by pass the air con relay? just wondering what the deal is cos with this hot weather atm it would be nice to have the air con on on the motorway etc. other half gets annoyed with the t tops off at motorway speeds summin about hair getting messed up :) my other worry is i understand that the eletric fan is related to the air con so if its not worjking as a result of this missing rely i dont wanna find a surprise traffic jam and over heat.

ah okies well im il be sure to pop down with the mrs and say hi will prob drive the zed down neways and just park round the corner. is it standard walk in free poole quay thing? also are there any like local regular meets?

next friday? awesome what time? is there a fee or anything? havent seen a yellow one seen twio reds one with the high level spoiler and ferrari style tail lights, another standard looking red one a black one on black which is hell loud which i belive is you hell raiser, a white one and two silvers one is currently for sale the onther seems to be a very tidy 99spec. if you see me about give me a wave its a red targa 2+2 twin turbo one one of those four slit front panels and graphite grey standard alloys de spoilered.

im 23 declared mine as a second car garaged limited to 2000 miles annually 1 years no claims no additional drivers pay about 1k throught admiral gota quote for next year with a ticket for a bald tire 900 bucks

newish z owner seen a few of you guys about dunno if any are on here. if you are get in touch would be cool to know who is about or if there is a local meet

im really liking this, theres always been one thing tahts bothered me about zeds they dont have v8s hahaha keep up the good work man

mine will tap quietly when cold but soon as its warm is sweet as a nut, ive since decided that its normal. and im paranoid about everything with my zed. or should i be paranoid? lol see paranoid!

oh and by teh way you can test them in situe just pop off the connector there brittle so be carefull. there hidden by your spark plugs. get a multi meter and put it on ohm you will see two prongs inside pop your positive negative on ther two prongs and you should get a ohm reading, i think it should be between 12-14ohms if there outside of this i belive there shagged, sum 1 else may be able to giv eyou more detail onm this subject but i did mine a few weeks back, found they needed a good clean up on the contacts rather than anything else

quite an informative page, but it would be nice to see exactly how the gauge is used where the copressor is attached etc, its summin id really like to spend and afternoon going thorugh to check its all good, im sure summin is leaking.

if it sthe one im thinking you may have changed your wheels recentlyto ones with black centres, i own a red one lives in the back streets of winton, i think ive counted about five in our local area.

im not a big fan of yellow, but it looks so much fresher than the silver, i think its that front bumper that does it. i have the same nose panel and spoiler on my zed. but id love one of those 99 spec front ends they look the nuts. im pretty desperate for jdm tail lights aswel but there not in my budget atm other things to buy lol

ive seen afew pics of it gets me every time dunno why its just kinda different and functional, i mean imagine taht thing flying up on you on some little a road, even dorris daydream 10miles below the limit will move out the way. its just a little naughty.

reade performance?? in new milton, i hear fairly good things from guys about them they did some work on my zed and seemsed like real fair honest guys, il give you there number 01425619765. they do some drift cahmpions car and last time i was there there was a black zed sat there apprantly its like 500bhp.... worth an enquire hey

there is a matt black z32 if you google image search, looks kinda cool if im honest, very prototype. (htp://ekhatch.files.wordpress.com/2008/10/matte-black-300zx-538.jpg) i wouldnt go full rat, for me id say it just doesnt go with the style of a zed. but i think yeh if you can sacrifice a few gash looking panels faded or whatever to get yourself a good one mechanically and matte black it go for it. i will say tho i skimmped on mine intially, and ive regretted it ever since cost me over 2k to get it sorted mechanically and im still not overly happy. buyinga good one will pay for itself as you have already been told good luck man il look forwad to seeing what you dream up and produce :)
