  5. i used a long maybe foot to 18" on the plate on top the injector heard lots of rapid clicks they all made the same noise.
  6. coil pack is faluty by the sounds of it you should be able to test this by swapping it for a known working one from another cylnder as youve done but retaing the same plug. you can do the reverse to check the plug. hope that helps
  7. because there mesaured in a differnt scale jap is measured in cm3 or summin and uk spec in psi summin along those lines. tells you on the gauge itself in tiny writing
  8. :confused1:i had a weird idle which upon investigation reveled i had a misfire on the drivers side front clynder. ive cleaned the injectior connection, done the screwdriver test, and it was clicking, ohmed the injector which came back with 12.9 i believe this is acceptable? ive also checked that i have a spark swapping the coil packs made no differnce and i pulled the plug and grounded it to the plenum and i got a nice fat spark. the plug itself looked normal no blackness or chunks missing etc. ive cleaned the ptu connections. all im thinking now is taht it could be the injector connector is so badly corroded its past salvage? any advice greatly recived my mot is due this week and im assuming im not gonna be passing with a misfire, due to emmisions.
  9. hrm just replied to you baz then read this lol. no closer to my misfire then :/
  10. dunno been faffing baout with mine, checked the coil pack by swapping over and checked im gettinga spark at the plug, which it was and ive checked the injector with the old screwdriver trick, gonna ohm it check its working properly then do a compression test like yourself, next thing im thinking is the ptu or summin maybe im gettinga spark just not at the right time. basics really atm feul spark compression timing? let me know if you sort yours il keep you posted on mine
  11. EDIT: Sorry but registered users are not allowed to sell in this club.
  12. did you get to the bottom of this? ive gota misfire myself just wondered if you discovered the cause?
  13. found it drivers side front cyldner isnt firing can remove the connection and engine note doesnt change. plug sparks, and ive done the screwdriver test and the injector is tapping however its a bit slower sopunding than the others i recon, matybe my imagination. gonna do an olhm test tomorrow
  14. just had a look at it didnt try the foot trick but i fiddled about with the coil packs and injector connections, i think its a misfire poor connection on one of the injectors. sounds a bit like a scooby at times, give ita wiggle sounds better, then worse etc. gonna run codes and clean the injector connections.
  15. that seriously blows man, gary is right tho. theres not much you can do till you get a reply and you never know it might come up roses, he may compensate you fully or summin for teh sake of his reputation its worth it. take some time out till its done outta sight outta mind do a spoot of fishing :D
  16. pk i had a feeling it may be summin like this, gotta find it first :D
  17. when my car is warm the idle is a little odd, it sits at a proper 1000rpm then drop down to 500rpm for a second then pop back up then not do it for 20 seconds or so then do it again. this has only started happening since i fitted a new oil cooler and bunged up a few leaks in the exhaust. any ideas what this is ive had a quick search and im thinking maybe its a bad connection to the idle control valve?
  18. in what world is that gold zed worth 6k? he admits himself it needs cosmetic work for dents and scratches. what gremlins are lurking under the bonnet?
  19. there not actually black from factory tho are they there like a graphite colour i brought a brand new one from zcentre last year cos half mine left the car. we wont get into why :/ been thinking bout pulling it off and the rubber mouldings and spraying them black to give it a cleaner look does look better
