  1. You want some rust killer on there mate, plenty of it. Time spent now is time well spent. Good on you for getting stuck in, too many people don't even know which end of a hammer does what these days. I got some zinc primer the other week, pretty good stuff and it's pretty cheap from screwfix, you can weld through it etc. If nothing else it will keep the surface rust away whilst your working on it. This is the stuff I use £3.60 a tin; http://www.screwfix.com/p/no-nonsense-zinc-galvanising-spray-paint-silver-400ml/40801
  2. Indeed. The tears are quite hefty. Compare this to the akemboko kit, or the Evo calipers etc and the rears are pretty big. My rears look pretty small in comparison to the front but the balance is about right. It's worth pointing out these won't make you stop any quicker. Bigger brakes don't necessarily mean smaller stopping distances. The limiting factor within the stock brakes (if healthy) is grip, you can lock the fronts up without too much effort at which point your skidding or in ABS. The advantage of bigger brakes is the ability to do this repeatly without cooking them.
  3. Thought that would be the case.
  4. Interested what the rear combination and fitment is.
  5. Auto and manual, NA and TT and SWB and LWB are all different.
  6. Me either. I certainly haven't heard he's back to normal.
  7. I thought Mike was still outta action?
  8. Those locating bolts are very handy aren't they.
  9. Agreed, the "horseshoe" is a grower. It can look great.
  10. I kinda guessed the trailer bit but yeah always helpful to include the relivant information lol.
  11. Classic line £325, that's getting there.
  12. Who's that through Ted?
  13. Weird. I recon they just roll some dice and square it
  14. I know that's not great but how did you get nearly half what they quoted me! Just 24 hours previously. Bear in mind, I have no point etc completely squeaky clean history for insurances sake.
  15. Do you believe you can provide a quote of circa £200-300 for an annual premium? Last time I checked you were not very competitive at all.
  16. Just to add, the early ones discolour. So if it's an early one, most likely, it will be square as seen and will have changed from that lovely blue/purple to chocolate shit/brown.
  17. Put it on an interest free credit card, be cheaper that way too.
  18. Don't envy you doing that little job.
  19. See the only thing I have you don't is a brake upgrade, chipped ecu and suspension mods. Insurance quote from them was over double. Weird.
  20. If say it's my age, mods, location but I'm 30, my cars not as modified as some of the others cheaper here and I live in a low crime area.
  21. That was by phone, a very helpful lady. She was quite embarrassed. Apparently the cheaper suppliers opted out due to "the class of the vechile" what ever that means.
  22. Thought I'd be proactive. Lancaster £600. Um no.
  23. Il be interested to see what happens this year then, mine is due for renewal next month and I'm with footman James. It jumped up last couple of years, the first year 3 years ago it was £150 then £200 and last year £250. I've stuck with them because they still honour my policy even though I no longer have a garage. Sounds like I'm going to be forced to switch.
