The thing is Andrew, I do actually believe this car would be an investment. And at its current price it would at worst retain its value for a few years so aside from general running costs it is essentially 'free' motoring. I have suggested this to the better half, but apparently we have a perfectly adequate Fiesta zetec s. They just don't 'get it' do they?!

4k is the approximate cost of the re wire we've just discovered our new house needs! Don't think I'm meant to be getting back in a Zed. That is such good value. And from a dealer who's prices can sometimes leave me astounded. If I could, I would, and I wouldn't change a thing. Not even '99 spec tail lights.

Orange bonnet, smooth nose panel and an '89 front. You could colour match the 'moustache' to the roof bars and alloys. Nice!!

I've been following the thread on MR2OC about the mk2 6 speed conversion. Just sold my Rev 2 and hoping to get back in a Zed. Looking forward to seeing how you develop yours, can't see it staying standard for long. Best of luck with it .

If you are using your van as a daily then you will be able to insure your Zed on a classic policy which doesn't require you to use any NCB discount. I did this with Heritage when I had my Zed. Also the same situation with my mr2. Van insured as a daily and mr2 on classic, this was with Performance Direct. HTH. Both cars were however insured on a 3000 mile per annum limit.

Think they are £500ish for a medium size velux. Ouch! It'd be cheaper to replace it with a triple glazed one.

Yeah, guy was a Limo driver from Essex.

He did mention at the time that the heater matrix needed doing, so it looks like the latest owner has had that expensive job done. I'd say it's worth a look, nice looking car.

It was up for sale on eBay a couple of months ago. It was priced at £1350.00 buy it now. I saved it that night but the following morning it was gone. I had the guys number from the advert as it was in my 'watching' list, so contacted him to say I'd be interested if the sale fell through. Apparently a guy was coming from Germany. He sounded like a right geezer on the phone, said "how well it goes sideways, it's a right proper tool and a great laugh". Also said it was a bit rough around the edges. It is an NA. The guy from Germany never showed and I was still interested in going to see it as it was so cheap. We arranged a viewing for the next day but then got a text simple saying "car is sold". Guess its had another owner inbetween then and now. The interior pic and the one outside the nice house are from the ad that was placed a couple of months ago.

The person you are sending it to has to have I message activated. Mine sometimes sends as an I message and sometimes as a normal text. I assumed it was to do with network coverage? Click on Settings. Then scroll up to Messages. Click on that. Should be at the top of the screen. Toggle it to on.
