Why remove the rear wheel steering???
All 4Wheel steering systems take a lot of getting used to. Took me a year to learn the system on the 3rd Gen Prelude and that was constant (and much more dramatic) rather than speed sensitive. However once I had mastered it I could go around corners about as quick as anything else I have been in (road cars). Also there was no such thing as breaking too late for a corner, if you were going too fast for a corner you could just let the front understeer and slide and be sure that the 15 degrees of turn in the rear wheels would get you round the tightest of turns. 4 wheel steering is good, just takes a little patience to learn what you can and can't do with it and the rewards are good. Drivin Ivan off my soapbox now thanks......

Help, where has my rear tyre rubber gone?
Japanese tyres and UK road surfaces are not a good combination. Japanese tyres are a harder compound than UK, so when you are on wet roads the grip is non existant (ok you can drive miss daisy, but is that the reason you bought the high powered sports car?). Drivin Ivan

I Spotted This Nice Looking Swb For Sale...
I saw this car for sale back in October last year. Even though it was black I still didn't want to go near it. Foooked in Japan, sold to the English was my first thought. Confirmed by the fact that it is still for sale, I think. Drivin Ivan

Effects of tuning
Depends on how old your car is and how well looked after it is (all servicing done etc.). If the car is in good nick then it should be able to handle a significant power boost with no problem (although it will break more often anyway when you start to push it harder). If your car has definitely seem better days then stuff will break left right and center as you try to wind up the power. Just make sure your brakes are good and the tyres have tread on them and then you wont die stupidly. Drivin Ivan

95 RON(unleaded) or 98 RON(super unleaded)
Quote "If i can't tell the difference and my NA engine seems happy on regular unleaded, is there any point putting the fancy stuff in? Am I risking any sort of mechanical disaster?" It all depends on how you drive. If you regularly take the car to the rev limiter then you are risking running the engine lean under high stress conditions. This tends to melt spark plugs which in turn punch holes in your very hot pistons. This is the horror story end of the scale (of which I have had far too much experience) the other end of the scale is the car handles it just fine with only minor damage taking place over a long time. Pmsl At This Car Or What.....
No Matter how hard the boy tries we can still easily spot the Corsa under all that crap. Why do they do it? spend all that money trying to disguise their crappy little cars with so much tat - why not just buy a decent car in the first place? Drivin Ivan Drivin a Nissan (no horn on the bonnet)

Exhaust and emissions
The CAT requirement affects all cars built after 1991. The car is unlikely to fail any emissions tests it was built for the Japanese market and will actually clean the air as it goes (that's what I tell those people who show any kind of concern for the planet!) Drivin Ivan

coil packs
I used to use Splitfire plugs on my Honda Prelude and they gave me at least 3 bhp but they also gave the engine a more responsive feel. I may well try these out. Now where did I put that credit card application form.........mmummbllle............... bloody car..........only had it a few months.......bloody fortune....... PHNW Customers Beware
Well done Dave - the first six weeks are the hardest. Every day you will start to feel a bit better, then you will do something quite energetic and not get out of breath or break a sweat and then you will feel real good. I smoked for 15yrs before giving up 3 1/2 years ago - feel incredible for it, put on a bit of weight to start with but that soon came off when I realised I could exercise without having an ambulance standing by. Do anything BUT light one up. still smoke the green - it is a different world without baccy! Drivin Ivan

Mods...Mods...Mods
Brakes brakes brakes Before doing anything to the engine/performance spend £500 on new brakes and you will not regret it - with the new brakes I can drive the car much faster as I have the confidence that the car is able to stop real quick. Recommend the Brembo discs and Porterfield race pads (cheers Baggins) they work adequately when cold, but once they have gotten up to temperature they will stop in a blink of an eye. Definately gonna be there. Would like a parking spot and a track pass if there are any left (let me know as I will want more than one run). I smoked everything on the track with the scubie last year, let's see what we can do with the Z car this year  ! Oh and keep yer eyes peeled for a little black thing that my mate's bringing out to play that day (assuming they don't throw him off for too much noise again :nono: !! I think I should be able to make the 23rd too. Marcus, do you still have your conzult? - I am running on safety boost and I think it might be the knock sensor but would appreciate a plug-in if you still have it. Cheers Drivin Ivan

nsx into f50
Nice work, very skilled guys who can do that. I have a couple of problems - it will become painfully obvious that there is a honda V6 lump in the back and not a race spec Ferrari lump = half the power and 1/3 the torque of the italian stallion (OK I have seen an NSX with a turbo running about 450 bhp). :nelson: For the cost of an NSX and all the work that's gone into it they could have probably bought a Ferrari !! DOH! :slap: Drivin Ivan

Box connected to my ECU
If it is a rev limiter adjustment device then unless you have a induction (non standard intake) kit and an exhaust then there is no additional power available at higher revs (and from the few dyno graphs I have seen there isn't much to be had by ringing this engine above 6500RPM). One danger comes from valve springs (your gonna have real problems if you buggger these) not being able to take the pounding of higher revs. Drivin Ivan I only killed three honda engines OK!

Box connected to my ECU
When I had a rev limiter adjustment fitted to my Honda, this is exactly what I got 4 tiny switches that increased (or decreased) the rev limiter by a percentage based on the configuration of the switches. However the unit I had was a Dastek (Unichip) unit and was fitted inside the ECU box. I really miss the sound of that engine singing its heart out at 8000rpm....onto bigger and better things....
