  1. I have just got back from spending two weekends at the Nurburgring in Germany. It was my first time there - what an amazing track!! There is no way to describe the number and variety of corners and the altitude changes are dramatic. There are some sections that you would not be able to walk up easily and you have to drive the car over it at about 100mph. The car behaved beatifully drove all the way there did 15 laps and drove back via France about 3000 miles. Used a lot of fuel! There was another Z car at the campsite - it was black UK registered but owned by a French chap. We looked each other's car up and down but my French is another language so I didn't get chatting to him. It was a track car that he trailered there and back - some real implressive brakes on the front. Drivin Ivan
  2. Nice one - get a sign "Warning Rock" and get him to pay for a bottle of rock cleaner.
  3. Doh - notices link after typing ........... :headvswal
  4. Might be tempted, depends on how things go at the Nurburgring at the the end of the month - after two weeks I may be satisfied with track time for a while. Post some more details i.e. how much $$. Ivan
  5. Hi Tim Well done on not choosing a Vauxhall Welcome! Ivan
  6. Hi Yami Are they in Bristol - I can ask a few of the guys I know who do imports - they all have to go to the auctions so they tend to know one another. Ivan
  7. No offence taken or meant, I'm just offering up a different (cheaper!) point of view. If you want to make it a paid members only site then you should see about setting that up. Untill you do you will have people who don't want a £20 sticker putting their thoughts in here. :nelson: Of course as soon as I want a discounted bit from one of the traders then I will be reaching into the wallet, as the savings offered on some bits are more than the membership fee. No other car forums I have seen have asked for a membership fee. Drivin Ivan
  8. Registered User I always offer advice if I can, I do not wish to take advantage of any special subscribed member offers (yet). I just like to have a place to talk Z - don't see a need to pay for that. I have met a few nice people attending a couple of meets, shown you all how to drive your Zed's on the track in the wet (but not the snow :headvswal ). I do not feel I have taken advantage of the paid up members and I believe they would have mentioned it if I was taking the pi$$. This is not an exclusive owners club, it's a varied bunch of people who have similar tastes in cars - this place is friendly. Drivin Ivan 2p in the pot!
  9. Glad you are OK Yami. Sorry to hear about the damage to the car. At least now you know what happens when you try to spin one of these cars. If the insurance wont cough up for repairs then ask if you can salvage it - I actually made money from buying back my first scooby taking the bits I wanted for the replacement and selling the rest. 10. Nice Video, well done for sticking out in the rain and getting some nice footage. Don't know who that nutter in the red car was :nana2: !!!!! I've remained on the fence so far on the whole question of colour and speed, but FAST RED ZED!!!!!!!!!! to be fair I do know that track pretty well Greg if you had got back to the Paddock my passenger seat had been reserved for you in the drivers brief. Drivin Ivan
  11. That could have come out better..... It was still fastest in the rain.....
  12. Mine was the dirty red SWB one with the bent rear end  Drivin Ivan

Having fun and staying safe is what it was all about and we all managed to achieve that I think given the conditions. there was a lot of respect for the other drivers and everyone did well not to make any serious mistakes. Well done to everyone for not doing what I did first time on the track in the rain  . Would love to see some footage Drivin Ivan

Over taking on the warm up lap counts for whatever you think it should count for in those conditions. I spent the next lap sat behind you wondering if you had any control at all. You did get through the run off on the chicane faster than anyone else I have seen go through there! Ultimately you were passed and gone from my mirrors within half a lap. I had fun out there. Your brother was a bit quiet and run away pretty quickly after we parked up, is he OK? Drivin Ivan

I'm gonna have to point out that there was one car that you definately did not overtake. :nono: After a cautious first lap I got into my stride in the wet and passed a lot of cars, no one was catching up.
  16. Got to add my voice to this. Suzy did an excellant job of putting together a great Z car stand. Some really nice vintage Z's, some Z31's which was nice to see and a wide selection of Z32's. A couple of very tasty looking Z33's too. Shame it rained (a lot) just as we were all lined up in the pit lane ready to go out. Drivin Ivan
  17. Do it. I had a prelude for over 3 years. The z Car gives satisfaction in the same way as the prelude. Do watch out the chasis does not give anything like the grip the prelude has, but the power difference makes up for it. Drivin Ivan
  18. It's not too far to drive over to see Baggins at ZTech - 20 minutes down the M4. Drivin Ivan
  19. Gonna go and have a look to see if the local Tesco's have it, better fuel = more power = :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:
  20. Marcus, that's yer Z - think about it! It doesn't need any fancy wrapping paper on it, it's a beatiful creation by itself. Toys on the inside now he's starting on the outside - when will it end? Drivin Ivan
  21. It was me, I did wave back, wasn't sure who it was though. Drivin Ivan
  22. An air lock within the PS system will cause these symptoms - simply top up, when full turn the wheel back and forth a few times with the engine running and then top up again - keep doing this till the level stays constant after a couple of turns back and forth This is the easy answer, if this aint it then the pump is probably off to the great PS pump place in the sky. Two engines would never work - there is no room to mount in the front for front wheel drive. And think of the weight.... :xxx: :nono: :slap: :: I am really liking the sound of the V8 conversion and will be keeping an eye on any updates on that subject - lighter engine and more power (especially with the supercharger) sounds good to me. Drivin Ivan

He could have supercharged an NA..........now there's a thought.... Drivin Ivan
  25. Costs £10 or £12 to get in on the day (cheaper in advance I think). There is a Z car session on during the day. I will be thrashing the Z car round the track - I need new tyrees to go to The Ring with. No convoys! We are not scubie drivers! (you'll understand when you get there) Drivin Ivan
